Roots and Refuge Farm: Can I Garden as Worship? | DEVOTIONAL

Hey ya’ll, I’m Jess from Roots & Refuge Farm

Welcome to a place that feels like home. A small farm with a big family. We hope you’ll pull up a chair, grab some coffee and visit awhile.

There was a time that all I wanted in the world was a little farm where I could raise my family and grow our food. Now, that is exactly what exists outside my door. In watching it unfold, a new dream was formed in my heart – to share this beautiful life with others and teach them the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Welcome to our journey, friend. I am so glad you’re here.

  1. I thouroghly enjoyed this time talking about how Yahweh and how we can worship and how you put it with the garden. It reminded me of the Garden of Eden and how Adam and Eve was to care for the garden. We are to do the same in our gardens.

  2. Micah 6:8
He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth Jehovah require of thee, but to do justly, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with thy God?

  3. Thank you Jess… Blessings on your day Kiddo!🥰🌻🐛💕ps absolutely seeking true relationship with the Gardener… within the garden of our souls and our backyards.💕

  4. I vividly remember my great grandma always singing hymns as she hung up her wash and worked in the garden ❤

  5. What is your future hope? Many people believe heaven is their future hope. At Matthew 5:5, Jesus said the meek would inherit the earth. What did he mean by that? And why not pronounce Yahwehs name Jehovah since that is the English pronunciation? You bring up a very good point, but I think it's important to study the Bible in order to have an accurate understanding of what Jehovah accepts as acts of worship. Gardening is definitely something to enjoy in order to produce food and plants to enjoy, but it is Jesus' instruction or the application of it that is life saving. Jesus' focus was on the ministry not in gardening

  6. I am with you all the way! Worship is a way of life. The way we talk, carry ourselves in representation of God. We are on assignment while we are here. To be an ambassador for Christ. Worship Him in alll we do. I am so glad you are in a place of boldness. Everything we are, every gift we have been given, is to be given back because it all belongs to God. Continue to Worship!💚

  7. This is beautiful. The priests job is worship – ministering to the heart of God. ❤ We are a royal priesthood ❤️

  8. Gosh Jess, I so desperately needed to hear this. Ty for following ur heart. How very much these words have ignited my soul

  9. Yahweh is actually the name of moloch in the Hebrew bible, the god of child sacrifice 😞 God is ineffible. He has no name. But I understand what you are saying.

  10. I so love your devotionals. My garden is my favorite place to be with our Lord. Thank you Jess.
Stay safe and God bless you my friend 🌱🐖🐓🐄🐐🌱 Lisa

  11. God is Love ❤
The beauty of life is abundantly visible in nature. The love of gardening is always a blessing and a gift for peace and understanding through the process of nurturing the soil and planting seeds in the ritual of bringing life to thrive and to grow in a relationship that allows us to be present and loving ❤

  12. When I say I squealed when I saw the title of this video… I was literally talking with the Lord about this yesterday and I named my garden Little Eden. And now you post this today. Man God is cool.

  13. I love this🙌🏼 I am always so amazed by God our creator when I see the beauty of the garden and nature🌱🪺🌷🌻🐝🪱🦋🐞🪶

  14. Most definitely. While I do not follow a set religion, I do believe in universe and the gifts it provides. I absolutely love that you are strong in your faith, it’s very admirable! Gardening has been my place to feel as one with nature and a place to give thanks for what I have been provided and so on. Gardening has also been such a blessing and full of lessons for me.

  15. I love that you shared this. I also have learned so much about Jesus and how He loves us and tenderly cares for us, cultivates us, and grows us through a garden. He has used seeds and growth and harvest to draw me back to Himself and it truly is beautiful. Thank you for who you are and for sharing your story with all of us! You are a blessing.

  16. You are right a garden can be an instrument of worship. If worship is us letting Jesus/ God shine ( we even sing Shine Jesus Shine)then when I plant a rose and the bloom shines it’s beauty the appreciation of the God who created that beauty is worship. I have stood at the edge of Kings Canyon or Yosemite near where I live and worshiped. I have realized that the God who created such beauty is in fact beautiful. That realization is worship. Thanks for sharing. This kind of video is why I keep following you. I want to be a part of encouraging you in this endeavor. You have the access to the ears of many who would probably never go to a church to worship. Keep on my SIC. You are doing beautifully.

  17. I haven't heard Harp and Bowl mentioned in a long while! And YES God speaks to us from the soil, as we see His work and wisdom in creation. All those little microbes in the soil are manifestations of his work! And call me crazy, but the secrets of God's creation are in the dirt, and I hear the Creator, not in human words, but they are imparted all the same, as I come to know I took am a part of His creation.

  18. This is why i love this channel, not only is your videos great . but to also share the gospel the way you do it’s amazing!! May you and your family continue to experience the Lord in a deeper way !! God bless you guys !! Thank you for this video , I honor your courage and your heart For our Lord Jesus Christ, the truth it’s so needed .

  19. This is why I love gardening! I feel so connected to our God and I'm often on my knees, weeding or planting, so it is a good time for examining my life, and counting blessings and repentance of sins, also praying just to talk and I even sing out there! You are a blessing and I am looking forward to watching more of your videos! Thank you, and God's blessings to you!

  20. I wanted to offer the Lord my garden then an intrusive thought came to me as where cain offered his and God rejected it lol. Also I feel like I have to catch myself to not idol my garden put it before God but I ask God for balance I get to obsessed with it fast I don't want to be like Martha in the bible. Idk just pray for me I just want to please the Lord

  21. I have always thought that nature reflected the goodness and majesty of God, and that gardening is an act of worship. Without God to create the way it all works, where would we be?

  22. My sister was our cousin's daughter's Godmother. At the baptism a priest came to introduce himself to my sister when he found out she was the Godmother. He asked her where she worshipped. She told him in her garden. His jaw dropped. I always thought that was sort of hypocritical of the priest. Jesus prayed in the garden. Worship all you want in the garden.
