I thought I’d included some text with this, but I guess it disappeared when I made it a photo post?

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to find this little coralberry shrub in my backyard (tentatively ID’d with the help of iNaturalist). I’d been wanting to plant some coralberry or snowberry, partly in the hopes of attracting snowberry clearwing or hummingbird clearwing moths.

Does anyone have any tips for helping this plant grow up big and strong? I’ve already read that they do well in shade (check) and can be encouraged to grow back bushier by cutting short every few years (already very short).

I’d also appreciate any advice on distinguishing coralberry from privets, so I don’t actually remove some while weeding. And also advice on how to have/edit Reddit posts with both photos AND text, it seems…
