  1. Love spring planting! I suggest taping that rip up or the cabbage looper butterflies will find the little precious broccolis

  2. Katarina cabbage we loved using cut into thin strips as lettuce. We used them on tacos, salads, bbq sandwiches for a sweet crunch with a spicy bbq sauce, etc. they are so crunchy and perfect with everything we have tried! Good luck!

  3. I never usually comment on videos but I was very concerned about the amount of dust coming from the fertilizer you are using and probably breathing in. I was wondering if it came in pellets instead.

  4. For anyone doing raised beds near trees or shrubs- put some landscape fabric in the bottom and up the sides. I am currently digging out 3 huge raised beds infiltrated by locust tree roots. It only took a year for this to happen.

  5. I wondered why my corn would not grow and I had a bed too close to a fig tree. The fig tree took over all the room. I had roots everywhere and had to remove that bed all together and let the fig tree have that area.

  6. You don’t believe you are in a zone 7a? We are in a zone 6a and the garlic is barely out of the ground and not all of it is up. I used to follow your schedule, but this year I am going to have to hold off as we just aren’t warm enough yet. So crazy!

  7. I’ve followed you guys for years, and I love your area. (Uncle had a hay farm just north, in Haines). Question-what do you guys do for fuel for the tractor? I’ve never noticed an above ground red diesel tank. Does Aaron get in it and drive it down the road to the station? 😅😅

  8. I have an absolute nightmare of cats using my flower and raised beds as a pee area…I've tried so many things with no success…please do you have any answer for this issue. They scratch up my seeds, uproot my plants dig holes to lay in…and it seems to be my cats and neighboring cats.

  9. how do you keep your cilantro from blooming. cilantro blooming has been my nemesis in the garden . If I don't get them before they go to seed, then other parts of the garden (and my neighbors gardens) get blessed with cilantro. do you have to clip them regularly?

  10. Something always gets to my broccoli heads overnight and eats only the head. I suspect possums, squirrels or rats. Any recommendations to solve this problem? Thank you.❤😊

  11. I wish I had room for this kind of garden. I live in a mobile home park and our yards are as thin as a single wide home.
When I was a child our next door neighbor had a huge garden on the side of his house and grew all sorts of vegetables. My parents had two big gardens.

  12. Ive never been able to plant spring crops 😵‍💫 where I live, it goes from arctic tundra to scorching hot in 2 weeks – such a pain!

  13. Laura, I've had a similar experience with my neighbor's arbs growing into my space in search of water. I am always shocked how much I have to battle their roots when I plant something. I think your hypothesis is spot on.

  14. Getting me so excited to plant my container garden. So much fun to watch your helpers plant with you. You have the patience of Job! We have just had a week of beautiful Spring weather and now we are preparing for rain for the rest of the month. Still having mid-upper 30s nights so am holding off for a few weeks yet for planting as I only plant my favorite veggies. Will plant my red onions, though. Thank you Laura for all your inspiration!💞💞💞

  15. Great planting so small but cute. Love seeing Samantha. She’s such a scaly wag so sweet.😂😂😂🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

  16. I just purchased seeds from your parents garden center and they arrived a week or so ago! I am Excited! I need to put soil in my new raised beds and was wondering what to look for.

My question is, when planting carrots-how do you get such big ones? Is it the "type" of soil? Something that allows them more movement and grow??? (I see that you tilled your soil and added fertilizer) Any pointers for starting out?

    (I 💖Russell)

  17. I have such a problem with the neighbor’s tree roots in my bed. Just dug up a raised bed and laid down weed fabric so hopefully things will do better this year.

  18. I love the trellis, I love the spring as well , I can’t wait to get in my garden . It’s going to have to wait for awhile till my knee surgery heels . Great to see so many things planted Laura .❤🌸🌿🌺

  19. I dont grow veggies. I received my Wayside order, and I'm afraid to plant because we arent past our last frost but they said they ship when its time to plant. Im in zone 7b and got dahlias, echinecea, and a hydrangea. Does anyone know if i should plant now or wait?

  20. Plant tag hack – use a label maker instead of a marker. Make a label and stick it to the plant tag. It never fades, water doesn't affect it, and it clearly peels away so you can reuse the tag again next year.

  21. Always one of my favorite videos of the year. So good to see the space full of spring crops and look forward to the harvest to come. ☺️

  22. My family didn’t eat anything from my garden last year 😂, so I’m going to grow cut flowers in the beds this year to bring me joy. Any suggestions on your favorite flowers?
