  1. I got extra seeds! I have been a long time viewer and was so excited to purchase my seeds through your site this year. I bought the Cherokee Purple and the Striped Romas (and a bunch of other things) and a few packets had around 40 seeds instead of 25 πŸŽ‰

  2. I have tried several different types but I just can't seem to grow a tomato. My nemesis it seems as everything else is growing strong.

  3. Luke!,.. i would love to hear your knowledge of tomatillos. Ive really only used them for salsa verde. But i would love to know other ways to use them AND the difference between tomatillos and tomatoes. Thank you for all your info!

  4. I grew some of those micro tomatoes last year. They were delicious, but the plants got HUGE and I swear there were thousands of them and they're only the size of a pea and it just wasn't worth the headache. So I pulled the plants up and let the chickens do the work. Now I'm expecting an absolute forest of those tomatoes in the yard this year.

  5. I ordered a bunch of seeds from your shop the other day, and the tomatoes I selected for trying this year are the Amish Paste and Wisconsin 55.

  6. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! By listening to you, I have improved so much in my first year of gardening!! I appreciate that you slow down and take the time to explain things out.
This will be my second year of gardening, in my first year I started with starts from Home Depot (tomatoes, hot & sweet peppers and cucumber plants). I almost killed them all within the first couple of months until my daughter told me to get on YouTube and search out the problems I was having and that was my game changing moment. I was watering way too much, I need to get fertilizer for the plants. I didn't know about "Up Potting", or using potting mix instead of soil from the yard.πŸ€·β€β™€I grew determinate tomatoes because of space I have a Container garden in zone 10b in So. Calif.
I had a Roma La Roma III and a Bush Champion II tomato plants. They gave me so many tomatoes. I learned about propagation and grew another La Roma plant.
This year I have sowed seeds for Amish Paste, San Marzano, Pineapple, Floradade, La Roma III, Rutgers, Celebrity and Tomatillo plants

  7. I like the Marion Tomatoes not just because of the beautiful fruit and taste but also to honor my momma..her name is Marion. I miss her. I also like Bonnie Tomatoes.

  8. Deciding what tomatoes to start this week. Just put my peppers in bigger pots along with herbs and flowers. Grew Tess's last year, oh my word, one plant is enough but they were seeds that were over 10 years old so I planted all of them, I even canned whole ones. lol

  9. I think I got it…πŸ…
    Cherry – Salads, Toppings

    San Marzano – Sauce, Paste

    Roma – Picadillo

Amish Paste – Sauce, Paste, Ketchup

Slicing/Beefsteak – Burgers, Soups, Toppings, Appetizer, Salsas, Gravy's, and Sandwiches

  10. Very interesting. Thanks!

My favorite is the Roma. Usually only tomato I grow. All around use, little waste. Perfect for salad, sandwich, canning and drying.

I have whittled down vegetables I grow to one type for versatility and seed saving.

Also noticed over the years Roma seeds are determinate. They never use to be. Unfortunately my seed collection "broke" early 2000 and been trying to rebuild.

  11. Cherry tomatoes are my favorite so I ordered about 15 different varieties to try this year lol it’s gonna be fun!

  12. This was an awesome video! Thank you soooo much!

I decided to grow 4 tomatoes last year. Cream sausage proved to be an awesome semi-determinate. Keeps flowering and giving a lot of tomatoes nonstop.
My beefsteak/slicer winner was Blue Beauty.

  13. What is the best type of tomato to use for salsa? Is it paste to keep it from being too watery?

  14. I really like this series that you’re doing with the different types of individual vegetables. God bless you and your family. Duane.
