  1. Bermuda grass and dollar weeds here in SE GA. sooooo bad! I've been dealing with these things for years… I try to get as much of the root system from out of the ground as I have opportunity to work the soil between plantings but it's never enough. It helps reduce the population of course but I doubt I'll ever be free of it unfortunately. Poison ivy too… 🥴

  2. I made the mistake of planting a Chameleon Plant in my front bed a few years back and it is mauling my whole garden. Anybody know if this method works for this scourge of the Earth?

  3. I enjoy watching your channel. Your weather is very much like ours here in southern Ontario. My family really had a good belly laugh over this one. We have never heard of Canada Thistle. There are proper names for all varieties of Thistles. Canada is not one of them! Just like Canadian Bacon, we don't call it that, it is Back Bacon! I do have a tip for you though. For any weeds I try to eradicate I use baking soda. It dries up the vegetation and kills the root. Only need to reapply if it rains. No need to go to the labor of digging. Good luck from Canada.

  4. Canada thistle is so nasty and invasive. I pulled it out with my bare hand and boy did I regret that for more than a week. It burned and stung for days. Always use a glove and weed puller. Maybe Luke is immune to the stinging.

  5. Thanks of the advice. You are incorrect about where the weeds come from- they don't come from bird seed- the 'thistle' seed is nyjer. Please don't inadvertently and incorrectly discourage people from doing what is needed to mitigate the decline of songbirds- we have lost at least 30% of US birds since 1970s due to our actions [excessive herbicides, pesticides, habitat loss]. So the least we can do is encourage them to thrive by making suitable food and water available to them. Thanks for the video.

  6. Supposedly Canadian Thistle is edible, so for those organic gardeners that don't like to waste anything, do a search for some recipes, maybe you'll like it.

  7. Spent a day pulling them out from the root, leave the dandelions as already mentioned, I have little to none left, if I do see them I’m on to it

  8. did you do a video on that pvc pipe garden behind you?, I can not find it, and how does that work for you?

  9. We joke that if you pull one thistle, 20 come to its funeral. We also have been fighting bind Weed.

  10. I live down here in Ga!!! All my weeds laugh at me everytime I try to remove any of them. Nothing works except getting out there and pulling it. I use my garden weasel and just dig dig dig! Love the video as always.

  11. Great video. Thanks. What do you recommend to combat quack grass (crab grass) that has infested my yard?

  12. How about MORGAN COMPOST PRODUCTS ? Have you ever been able too check the product out ???
Just wondering what your thought is on this product

  13. this is just anecdotal but last week I peed on a 2ft wide giant thistle about 5 times per day and on the 4th day it was completely dead and I haven't seen any more pop up around it since. Maybe an idea for a future test. lol

  14. I did you not, I was hiking on some remote sand dunes in Death Valley and I spotted a very small Canadian thistle. It can survive anywhere!

  15. When I saw you with the weeding knife I had a good chuckle. I spend a lot of time walking around with a weeding knife popping weeds. Cheers from Hillsboro Oregon

  16. I actually ask my hubby not to mow down our dandelions, so the bees have their first food in our yard. And I plant bee balm (flowers) to continue the feeding.
Yet my neighbors all spray to kill every insect!!! 😖

  17. Or the 4th way: you’ve been playing wack-a-mole with these things for as long as you’ve owned your home
