  1. I keep coming back to your seed store, I just love the affordability and the packaging. I love the photos and all the information it has. Perfect ;packaging🙌😁 from Canada

  2. Notice you dont have Fin d Bengal green beans or Japanese Climbing cucumbers. Both of which I love and grow. Wondering if you are going to be getting in or you going to stop carrying. If so, why? Thank you!

  3. Thank you! This helped alot. I'm doing square foot gardening for the first time and the succession planting time will really help to know.

  4. I did not know about that succession planting guide. That's good to know! I really didn't understand how to use the "days to maturity" until I took a seed starting course last year, and now that I understand, I can make a more informed choice. Thank you!

  5. Luke have you tried making raised beds made out of boards made with rice hulls? Supposedly they don’t rot or break down over time and they’re significantly cheaper than actual wood like cedar

  6. Any info on growing in a greenhouse? I have one and am not sure about pollination etc.

  7. red noodle beans are the same species as cowpeas, not common beans, so probably they are not going to cross…

  8. Thank you Luke for all of the videos that you put out. I’ve been gardening for years yet still learn something from all your videos.
I have questions about some of the terms that you used today.
    1. Bi-annuals – I dont often grow them but have always been curious, will they survive beyond 2 years?
    2. I always try to buy heirloom seeds. Your definitions got me wondering – how stable are hybrid seeds vs open pollinated? Should I expect to pay the same price for say a hybrid bean seed, an open pollinated bean seed & an heirloom bean seed? Why would one want to buy anything but heirloom seeds?
    3. What is the difference between an “improved” seed vs hybrid, O.P. & heirloom?
    4. I was going to ask you to expand on why GMO seeds aren’t available to home gardeners but I see in the comments that there are now GMO seeds becoming available. I would love to hear more about that as well. Thanks again!

  9. Jess is absolutely right. The GMO Purple Tomato is now on sale for the public. It is a Purple Snapdragon with their gene spliced and combined with a tomato. It is a completely purple cherry tomato, and it is called, "Purple tomato.". I checked it out and the company that created it is selling it to the public. Baker Creek also has a completely purple tomato that is non-GMO but only a handful of people were able to buy it, so right now it is unavailable. People need to know the difference.

  10. On the onions that are biennial I have a question. I live in zone 4 and it gets to -20F, will onions survive for their second year if it gets that cold?

  11. Great video as always and I learned something new about the succession planting symbol. 🙂

I have a question that maybe someone could answer. I'm confused about days to maturity. I always thought that was from germination to harvest, but recently I've seen information that it is actually days from transplant to harvest. If that's true, how does it help to grow, say, peppers indoors if it doesn't actually help get a jump on the season?

This year will be my first time starting seeds and I'm a little overwhelmed trying to figure out all the timing!

  12. Seeing your store front made me google where it was. Today i learned youre only 3 hours away from me. No wonder i can follow your advice to gardening to a t. 🤪🤣🤣 thank you! (Located in Northern indiana)

  13. Most people wish to vacation to the Bahamas (and don’t get me wrong I will be there one day but) I wish to vacation to visit the migardener store🫶🏼

  14. Some more terms to talk about that still confuse me for a second is indeterminate vs determinate and long day vs short day

  15. Also color me enlightened on the succession planting symbol as well. I've already got asparagus, lettuce, onion and kale seeds growing here, and just planted out beets and carrot today, hyped lol!

  16. You should check your information about non-GMO seeds not being available to non-commercial growers. It’s all over the garden community right now, roots and refuge farm, next level gardening, blossom and branch, etc. GMO seeds are now available to the regular gardener.

  17. Funny, I keep trying to get that red noodle bean! Lol, always sold out! Am on a list to bet notified but after getting notified, it is already sold out! How can I get some! Thank you, & thanks for the refresher on terms, too! Very helpful!!!

  18. Love this. But what about that new purple gmo tomato that was crossed with a snapdragon? I would like to hear your thoughts on that. Love your channel, love your seeds (they are all I grow). You are always a wealth of information!!

  19. Mottled sun can absolutely work depending on your microclimate though! You really just gotta experiment. We always say "Full sun doesn't mean full Las vegas sun" or "full texas sun" hahah

  20. Hey Luke. Great info, but I am hoping you will do a video explaining more on HARDY ANNUALS, which in my opinion deserves a category of its own. Hardy annuals have become very popular!

  21. Great info! Another one I was not familiar with when I started growing tomatoes and had to research was determinate vs indeterminate. I had no clue what that meant before looking it up and once I learned it totally made sense why some of my tomatoes grew like weeds all year and some stopped producing and died off and I thought I was doing something wrong!
