Arboriculture I have a 100ft tree with a 3ft trunk that gives us vital privacy. An old chain is embedded a few inches in the bark, possibly nailed in. Should I leave it to grow over, chisel it out, or something else? I want this tree healthy long-term. We’ll cut off the loose chains. Any advice? July 21, 2025
