  1. Big difference with painting the foundation. Very nice choice of colors. Everything looks clean and crisp. You’ve created a little gem on that property.

  2. Just went to the perennial plant opening at our local nursery, took my neighbor. She's got lots of areas to plant and I'm here for it! Nice selections Jim!

  3. That back fence being removed looks really good, I’m sure the Deer will appreciate it as well, but the borrowed scenery makes your yard feel bigger.

  4. Does anyone else, go plant shopping, find something they love, bring it home, and THEN pull up Jim's page to find out what to do with it? He's never steered me wrong yet! Thanks for all of your knowledge you share.

  5. I noticed that you didn’t use any fertilizer in bottom of hole. Do you not use like bio tone in hole before planting.

  6. I’ve been trying to find a Juliet cleyera since I saw Jim plant this one but I can’t find one anywhere! Hopefully there will be more availability on these soon. 🙏🏻🤞🏻🙂

  7. Hey Jim, any idea or recommendations on where to purchase either the Romeo or Juliet Cleyera? I can’t seem to find it locally the past few yrs and I’ve been looking for it as a mail order this yr and still finding it out of stock. If you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated 👍

Btw, nice to see someone else tuck a variegated shrub in the background of a landscape bed👍👍👍

  8. We have a boatload of daffodils put in by the previous owners. After planting a shrub last fall halfway on top of a bunch of bulbs I realized that it was time to actually mark them as JP suggested.

  9. I'm very tempted to try that Golden Falls Redbud here in Southern California. We've actually been relatively cool the last two years, but it's a roll of the dice.

  10. Hey Jim…I am in Michigan (zone 6a)..I have an older established red bud and the big roots have migrated out into the yard and of course, my flower bed. If I am digging to plant a new shrub or flowers, and I run into those big roots, is it okay to saw them out of there? Does it depend on the size? Thanks…..love you guys!

  11. Question! When you say “great plant for the South” are you referring to your humid/hot weather specifically, or would you actually be including any area that’s zone 7 and up? Would plants that are “great for the South” also great for me here in zone 8b, Western Oregon? Thanks!

  12. I really enjoy watching you plant new shrubs and your house looks great. When you were talking about the Romeo clyara( not sure of spelling) in the corner of house you were in front of a hydrangea. Can you show us when you start developing the flower buds on it. I faithfully covered mine zone 7b this year because the frost took out my blooms in the past. It seems like forever since mine bloomed so I hoping it will bloom this year. Thank you for sharing and being so detailed about your plants. And thank you Steph for your camera work. Hi Holly!

  13. Lovely day here in northern Arizona.. 40 mph winds and a bunch of rain coming in a few hours 😢 Thanks to Jim for giving me a lovely tutorial to distract me. 😂

  14. You showed autumn starburst encore azalea! I just got one of those for my mom. It’s so pretty!!! The new growth is almost neon green.

  15. My grandma had two of those chairs also painted black on her front porch when I was a kid. It’s really going to pop against the blue of your house, which if I haven’t told you already, I love! It’s been such a delight to be part of this channels community over the last three and a half years. Just to see the transformation of your house and garden has been the best.

  16. Hi Jim, where can I purchase an Eastern Red Bud?
Also do you have any idea why my Chinese Snowball viburnum only has a few blooms on lower branches? I did cut it back in the Fall.

  17. I just found a bunch of Leucothoe on new family property. I took a picture to do a Google image search to identify it and the only reason I could even pronounce it was because I'd heard you talk about it!

  18. I did not know I will need to stake my golden falls. I dont think it's too late bc I just planted them in the fall. How do I keep staking higher as the tree grows higher than I can reach? Will I need help with a ladder? Are there any size or type of stakes I should try to get? I wonder the same about my Gold Drift bc I guess it will bend over as soon as it's height exceeds that of the stake. Thank you. 🤔

  19. Can you do a video explaining what you did to improve your soil? If you’ve already explained this in another video I’d love to know which one!

  20. It's amazing how you just can't part with a favorite old tool. I have the same issue. Enjoyed the video and I always learn something from you! Thanks, Jim!

  21. I REALLY NEED HELP IMPROVING MY CLAY SOIL. I KEEP BUYING MULTIPLE PRODUCTS , THEN GET CONFUSED AND DO NOTHING!! PLEASE HELP
KAREN. Thank you. Love you're down to earth personality and make it easy to watch. I get distracted very easily. I end up watching you for HOURS!!
