The ✨BEFORE✨ Garden Tour :: My New Garden :: Dig, Plant, Water, Repeat

Welcome Gardeners! I am SO excited to finally show you all my new garden! It is going to be quite the project getting this garden in shape, but I’m so ready for the challenge. This garden is almost an acre, so much more property than I’ve ever had! 🏡 Enjoy!

  1. I can’t wait to see this property beautiful. With your loving hands and building a beautiful garden. It’s gonna take time, but I know you’ll make it wonderful

  2. And I’m so glad you’re showing that before you even get started and I hope you save this video for the future as you were going to make this place look fabulous. It has a beautiful driveway and it looks like a beautiful home. Can’t wait for the home tour.

  3. I’ll go back and check those videos out my dear friend I miss the home tour inside in the office tomorrow

  4. You have a massive front yard. Thank you so much for sharing it with us and it sounds like you would have a quiet inside the house being that far off the road.

  5. Listen, I live in Southern California, and I don’t like palm trees. They don’t give you any shade and most of them get way too big and they take a lot of upkeep. And I have tons of baby palm trees coming up in my yard every year and I don’t even have a palm tree in my yard just for my neighbors palm trees. Every time we have a windstorm I have those palm leaves or whatever you call them blowing into my garden and they’re heavy. No I don’t like them.

  6. Please take out most of the driveways!! They are in terrible condition. None of them match. And there are waaay too many. There are horrible!😢

  7. The zig zag planter can be camouflaged. For starts, just paint it gray. Then plant vines to cascade over it.😅

  8. Going to be so exciting watching the transformation of all this space! Congratulations and looking forward to seeing the progress unfold 😊

  9. My neighbor had a gigantic palm tree taken out yesterday by a movie company. They came dug it out, wrapped it up, hold it away and paid her an arm and a leg for it to use in a movie set. I don’t know who she called, but you may want to look into it.

  10. Cheers🥂 to you and your family. What a wonderful journey. Although you don't know all of us, we feel like family and are so happy for you. I think it is so exciting to see what you can do with the bones of the property. I love all your visions, it will be fun to follow. It is also fun to learn about northern Cali. I used to get annoyed that my neighbors cats visit, but I've noticed I don't have bunny problem this year….so maybe an outdoor cat? Fig tree is also my favorite, even though I live in Michigan. I have the Chicago Hardy. Glad to hear someone else doesn't like stone fruit…I always feel funny that they are not my favorite. I know you will make that zig zag beautiful for the time being.

  11. Hi Janie,
wow nice property lots of potential, im anxiousl just to see you start on the garden this is going to be so much fun, YEAH! 🌲🌻🌱 thank you for sharing 👋🙂
PS Has one ever told you that you resemble Kate Hudson the actress?

  12. Wow and congrats! You will get to play to your heart's content – and yeah, like someone mentioned put out a small saucer of water for the bees until you find out if they are solitary, wild ones or whatever. My only advice from experience – go slow, pick the areas you are certain about first, generally speaking, it makes sense to let a garden year go by without too many immediate changes that you may regret later. Setting up a veggie and cutting garden and working on the orchard areas is definitely a good start.

  13. Wow, what a. Great project. Since you have a well and propane, do you have a septic system also? Or are you on city sewer?

  14. Please dig up some of that concrete…. so much space and half of it is paved!!!! Can just see all the potential….good luck

  15. Love the new place! I personally think the zig zag wall has so much potential and fits the home beautifully. I am so excited to watch you transform this amazing space! Congratulations!

  16. Please, please, please, incorporate some natives. You could even devote a small space & call it your native garden. It would be nice to have two native spaces, one in front & one in back. Natives would work well in your orchard & bring in the pollinators. Native bees need native plants because their little mouths evolved alongside our natives.

It’s so terribly important that we plant natives, including host plants that the caterpillars eat. One, that’s how we’ll save our butterflies. Second, it’s how we’ll save our birds that need thousands of caterpillars to feed their young.

Anyway, please consider using some of your ample space for a diverse, productive, native plants.

Including a few native bushes and/or trees. Our birds need nesting spaces.

  17. So excited for your new property! Loved the planning video! It’s going to be great, have fun out there and thanks for sharing your gardening adventures😊

  18. Hi Janie…you definitely don't want the bunnies. I fight with them constantly, they eat all the stuff I love. I've had to rethink where I plant things and if the rabbits will be able to reach them. Sorry!!!
