hey floss tube my name’s Dana and my
channel name is gemstone stitches I’m
back to do an update today with what I
have been working on the last month or
so I was able to accomplish a good
amount of stitching never as much as I
want to but progress is good progress um
I did get the ffing done that I was
hoping to get done and after the video
I’ll put it on the wall so I’ll share
that with you
I got an excite exciting
purchase
and I got a haircut
see um finally chopped off my hair it
had been needing to be done as much as I
was trying to grow it out it was you
know it was time to let it go because my
hair just better shorter uh just trying
to figure out the best ways to style
it this is the straight blunt way uh the
curling
way and it’s not always what I expected
it to turn out like so I’m
practicing um but it was it was fun to
look at Instagram and try to figure out
what I’d like and I settled on what they
call
axie which is a bob mixed with a pixie
so you kind of have like shorter hair
and then still the Bob
length this is what I
got um so I’m liking it though I like
the change it feels
fun all right enough about that let’s
get into what we’re here for which is
the crossstitch CH the last time I was
here I was slated to work on book of
days um this is by the drawn thread
I’m not going to finish it into a book
it’s just going to be um framed uh in my
entryway downstairs I have a few a
couple drawn threads and a home sweet
home crossstitch and there’s a
mirror an R for our last name in Wood um
and then I have like one of those little
miniature boxes where I have like
little uh I try to get souvenirs and
things from as we go small ones that can
fit in there so I’m collecting and
sticking things in there so it’s kind of
a fun little wall and this is going to
be added to that once it’s
finished
so last
time I think I had Monday done for
sure and
now Tuesday and Wednesday are
finished there big crease in it now
where I was
folding I am substituting with
DMC
and the greens yeah if you use the
actual substitution from what’s called
for which I think is dinky dyes and
maybe NPI silk
um they’re not always the
most the kind of greens that I would
have chosen so I kind of went in and
picked some of my own greens but that
Tuesday still looking pretty bright uh
but you know what some leaves on flowers
are very bright or a lot of the leaves
on flowers are very bright like that so
we’re going to go with
it I need to put in more
leaves on these Vines and then the
flowers for
Wednesday and then I can move down
underneath Monday to start on
Thursday so oh yeah it’s really cute
this is little yellow flowers and
there’s dragonflies at the
top and then Thursday looks like some
sunflowers so I’m going to have some
yellows and I’m sure those dragonflies
are one over one cuz a lot of times with
drawn threads there’s little one over
one bits when it’s comes to the bees or
maybe the
birds the next thing I worked
on was Esther’s
waves still going strong on this one
still doing a lot of
beating um I actually am going to put
this on the frame
tonight if I am able to get to it and
start the rotation again on ester’s
waves so far I’ve only had this project
in the Q snap but I’m finally to that
point
where I need to put it
on my Quantum frame
because um if I were to move the Q snap
where I needed at this point it’s going
to go right over the beads and crush
them
so this is the
whole
project right here long and
big and
then I’ll fold it to
about where the beadings all finished
up it’s just so big
all that is beaded fully so I finished
up this red row and this orange
Row the last time
super pretty super
sparkly if this was the true rainbow
colorway like is shown here I’d be
moving on into purples or blues and
purples
but I need
that maybe if I look really closely this
isn’t actually
I don’t know sorry now it’s up to
again you know what maybe this is the
correct color way I’ve been saying this
all this time
but if you really look at it it might
those greens actually just look like or
those blues that I’m think I’m seeing
just act like greens I was I was wishing
it was a rainbow color
way I was seeing it with my eyes but I I
really don’t think it is so yeah the
called
for Threads even though it might look a
little rainbowy to you in the picture
it’s not cuz when you work your way down
it starts turning into these
Browns and then the Browns go back into
the red and the colors repeat itself and
what’s cool is that this orange up
here might be the big row but then when
you go down here when the orange repeats
itself it’s the Jess Stitch and down
here this lighter orange is the small
Jessica Stitch but when you go down here
the lighter orange is actually the
bigger row with the more beads and so
on so each color gets a a big row and
then a small
row we’ll see how far I can
get on these other rows that I need to
complete
it’ll be fun to see the hearts come
in here because it that’s kind of one of
the most blank looking areas hopefully
the beads really help it fill in down
there so I will work on that for the
next few days or so I’m be I keep
getting off in my rotation because what
happens is I try to have everything
marked down in my book of days for 5 day
rotation and then move on to the next
but inevitably what happens
is I
get tired and I’m not able to stitch one
night or one day I’m just not in the
mood for stitching or I fall asleep
while I’m sitting there waiting for the
kids to fall asleep and then I didn’t
get any stitching done for a couple days
or more or if I did stitch on it maybe I
only got a couple threads in so I don’t
want to move on to the next project yet
because I feel like I need to put a
little bit more effort into that before
I go on so I get a little bit off on my
rotation but I feel
like I’m managing it by having a couple
really good days on a project to where I
feel like I’m getting a good amount of
progress so maybe I don’t need to use
the full five days for that
project and I definitely am not diligent
about writing what I’m actually doing on
every single day I just kind of have
this as a guideline for me so this was
March
um so it’s book of days I was going to
do Lucky Berry and I decided not to and
that’s when I did some
ffing uh
instead and
then I did some stitching too
Esther’s waves and then the next one
I’ll show you is Celtic winter I did
also fancy up
April I did a lot of um sun and moon
type
things um and things growing because
things are finally growing around here a
nest with some
birds this is like a little flower pot
that looks like a lady and it has the
sun face I did a lot of sun and moon
because we did experience the solar
eclipse um on April 8th we were in the
path of totality here in Essex Junction
Vermont uh so we got to the kids all had
the day off they closed the schools in
daycare down for it because they were
expecting a lot of
traffic and you know they knew we would
want to go outside and see it so they
thought let’s just keep the kids home
and then you guys can have fun watching
the solar Clips so that was a really fun
day I took the day off work and the
neighbors had a little get together so
we watched it all
together um and we were actually a part
of the total solar eclipse the last time
it came around in 2017 I
believe um we were living in Lincoln
Nebraska
and that was the path of totality that
time around as well so everyone’s joking
that we’re you know they need to hang
around with us cuz anywhere we are going
to be the path of totality is going to
be the next time but pretty sure maybe
the next time might be like across the
ocean or something which you probably
won’t be on the ocean but it’s just kind
of funny the neighbors are joking around
about
that so to finish up March I worked this
is one I did not work very much on I
worked on Celtic
winter I’m converting it to blues and
Silvers and
Grays and this is where I got
to so I really just did I think I really
only got some of that blue done on the
head
that is
it and I won’t be working on her I think
much else for the year until winter
rolls around again or the cold weather
rolls around
again and then the next
project was um my heaven and earth
design peacock days artwork by Josephine
wall still working on the
page that I was on the last time and
probably will be for quite a while
longer in my rotations but this is how
far this is what it looks like total
this is two rows of pages so this is how
far I got this last time
around I’d say maybe approaching 50%
maybe over a little over 50% at this
point it’s really just a lot of that
background swirly
floral
area sometimes if I’m in the mood I’ll
work the color over usually just pick
the next color that’s up here and work
my way through the page to color
complete and either stop it down here
here or maybe work a few stitches into
the next page
over just to give myself that much of a
head start on the next
page when I get
there this is the only project that I
have that I actually use pattern keeper
for so my little tablet that is not a
Apple product
actually lives
in the project bag for that
um one day I’ll have another project on
that pattern keeper and then I’ll have
to house it in a different spot but for
now since that’s the only reason I use
that tablet it lives in that um little
bag because especially my kids find it
sometimes and they want to play around
with it because they think it actually
is a iPad or something that they can get
on and look at and it’s like yeah and
please please do not mess up my pattern
keeper because I don’t want to try to
fix
it the next project I worked on was
shadan I always forget the long name of
this it’s ularius the medieval herb
garden
mandala and there’s a little tiny
picture of it
I’m still very much in that Center
Diamond square
area I’m trying to even remember where I
got to where I was the last time I
showed and where I am now but here is
where I
am so
there’s oh I think
yeah I want to say did I do all that
green all the I finished up the green
all the way
around these little rays and then
um the bigger green darker green
eyelets and then around that
row or no maybe maybe that’s where I was
done and I had to do a bunch of brown I
don’t remember somewhere in the brown
and green area I was and then um from
there maybe added these gold
beads and then
did some beading all the way around
these there’s beading and then around
the they’re more like a brown copper
bead and above the brown copper bead is
a petite treasure braid gold sparkly and
then the last layer around is just black
DMC
310 so that is where I am
kind of want to just work on this I
don’t want to put it down I want to just
keep getting it bigger and bigger and
bigger because I want to get out of the
center and start making my way up into
one of the corners but still got quite a
ways to go before I get
there just got to be patient with it I’m
already not patient enough in that I am
doing all the stitching specialty
stitches is and the beading as I go and
I think you’re really supposed to wait
until the end to bead but I didn’t want
to leave all the beating to the end I
felt like it would just be way too
much so I’m hoping that doesn’t bite me
in the butt at some point when I’m
having to cover those beads to to get it
into the frame
later okay oh I’m showing you the
product this is Up on the Rooftop by
Tilton
crafts
and
uh trying to think about artwork oh okay
yeah artwork by Steven crisp this is not
in pattern keeper I’m just doing this
off the paper pattern and I started
getting into the
diagonal stitching because I was kind of
seeing some lines in each of the blocks
that I was working on
and so I thought you know what I’m just
going to start a diagonal and I
didn’t I mean it doesn’t seem like I got
a lot
done
um but I bet if you add up all these
stitches that I did in these diagonals
it it could be a good chunk of good
chunk of
stitches but yeah I really just wanted
to stick with this is I think think 336
it’s in a dark
blue and I just wanted to stick with
using one color because that seemed
really easy for me um one of these times
when I feel like it I will go through
and finish
up down here doing all the confetti
stitching um but another reason why is
some of the colors that are down here
are also in these blank spots these
aren’t stitched yet in the Stars so
they’re going to be up
throughout
here and then also down in here
so what I’ll do is I pick colors that
aren’t in the Stars whatever colors
aren’t left in the stars that I go
through and I color complet it this is
the reindeer
here and then once I finally go through
and finish up the
336 that’s when I can start picking
the colors that are in the stars and
then stitching them throughout down here
where they need to
be I feel like the Tilt and cross pages
are a little bit
wider than well also I think this is on
25 count and my heaven and earth design
is 28 count they’re both one over one
but if I have any other full coverages
in the future definitely is going to be
on 25 count one over one unless I decide
to go with the 10th stitch on future
projects then I’ll have to figure out if
I want to continue with 25 count with
two strands or go 28 count two strands
I’m not sure I have to look up some of
those full coverage experts that are out
there and see what they tend to do
because a lot of people I think do the
25 count one over one and like it
and I can see why so if they have a way
to do tent Stitch the way they like it
then it’s probably a good
option and then I
restarted Celtic spring
so this is Celtic
spring uh I’m basically doing as called
for except I’m making the overlaying
part of her dress I don’t know if
there’s a nice name for that um
green so it’s going to look sort of like
a crocus that grows in the
springtime it’ll be green and
purple and then this is all going to be
the same around
here um so what I did is I actually just
started up on the top because I wasn’t
really in the mood
to
um try to do any color converting or
figuring out where do I want the exactly
do I want the greens to be like in the
shoulder part or down here um I just
didn’t want to think too much cuz I feel
like I have to do that so much with
Celtic winter that I thought you know
what let’s just start at the top so that
I don’t have to make those
decisions and I can just Stitch so I
folded my um Fabric in half and started
in the I went 3 in down and started in
the
center so that
is this up here is a purple color and
then the back stitching in interior is
uh 823 a dark
blue this is all
green these are
okay so the top
little every other Stitch is purple then
it goes to the 823 there supposed to be
petite treasure braid or bead in between
and this is a brown color and then I
started on the next little
band I’m not beating as I go on this one
so and I don’t have the p treasure braid
it calls for four cards of I think
pb1 I want to say I might have that
in another one of my projects but I
don’t want to take out of another
project when it comes to petite treasure
braak because I don’t want to
accidentally use it up and then you know
be searching around for it later so I
thought I’ll just order some so I have a
I have a a pretty good size order coming
in from one two three stitch that has a
lot of beads
and some different things that I need to
um round out the supplies for projects
that I’m working on particularly beads
and then I got some fabrics for projects
that like I’m going to do bejweled
elephant later in the year I didn’t have
fabric well I had a gray fabric I think
for that but I ended up not wanting to
do that and then I think I’m starting
Celtic Noel so I wanted to get some
gingerbread fabric for her so anyhow I
have a a good size order coming in from
one two three
stitch and one thing that’s interesting
so I had to restart this because I
realized I was doing this
on 28 count I believe and I wanted all
of my Celtic Ladies to be on 32 count so
I thought I’m just going to go
get 32 count Sprite
so I did and you can see that it’s quite
a bit
different well doesn’t look too terribly
different but there’s a lot more
purple in this one than there is in this
one these are both Sprite same kind of
fabric the counts are just
different so that’s interesting to see
how
this almost barely has
modeling it almost just looks like a
plain lavender it’s very blown out in
the light whereas this
one has a lot more purple in it and
there’s a lot more
modeling and I like them both honestly I
think they’re both going to be just fine
for the for what I’m doing it’s just
interesting to see in person like the
differences that can happen with dying
um and then this is what I had started
so it was just her
shoulder and this is like her arm coming
in holding the flowers over here and
then that part’s going to be the green
coat and that’s where I was kind of
thinking maybe I should do something
different
like I don’t know
what what’s interesting to me is that
the arm sleeve is this very
light yellow cream type
color
so I I can see why I kept that purple
cuz it kind of goes with the front of
the dress
there and I think this little bit of
dark purple goes
with
this overlaying part of the dress that’s
going to be green but then I’m like do I
want this to still be that cream
color I’m not sure so that’s another you
know thing that was going through my
head and that’s what made me say you
know what forget it let’s just start at
the top I can find the center and leave
enough room
for framing and stuff that’s what we’re
going to do made it easy and I actually
really enjoyed doing just like you know
the little bands and the little
stitches so ffing this is um long dog
sampler Spirit of
vland and I’ll put a picture in of it
cuz there is going to be some glare I
opted to keep it’s not even glass I
think it’s like a
plastic
um
cover sorry sorry this window is going
to glare on it um but this is a frame I
ordered from Michaels I believe I ended
up ordering online I found a frame on
Hobby Lobby at Hobby Lobby that I really
liked when I was there but there was
some scratches on it and I went on to
Hobby Lobby’s website to try to get the
frame and oh my
gosh I’m not sure I don’t think I ever
found it and there’s so much online I
was like you know what I don’t want to
sift through a a million frames to find
it so I found something on Michaels
which is I liked it it’s kind of um got
that antiquey silvery color and it’s got
these little knobs right
here not that there needs to be any more
detail surrounding this project cuz it’s
so detailed but there it is I framed it
myself I stretched and laced it around
foam board
and it took me a long
time but I think I did a pretty dang
good job there are some areas like right
here I wish it was just a little more
straight but you know
what handmade is not supposed to be
perfect right
uh but this is Spirit of
verland I think it’s on 28
count um
lavender fabric um it’s a a light purple
fabric and it’s stitched with DMC 550
which is like a bright vibrant purple
it’s hard to tell in this lighting and
it’s actually going to hang here in this
bedroom
because um I have it’s very like the
walls are just this cream color you can
kind of see over here um with this
lighter Furniture but the curtains are
uh um a a really pretty purple and then
um the comforter oh it’s not a comforter
it’s kind of like a quilted blanket that
we use is purple um and I just got
something to help store
My crafting supplies that I put a lot of
my crossstitch in which I’m actually
going to do another
video after this one to share um how I’m
storing ing my crafting supplies
and uh maybe go into some of
the um not my whips but just some
projects that I have that are not whips
that haven’t been started yet I might
open those up and show you guys those
but um I was able to purchase some
little bins that go in to the unit and
so it’s
like basically almost the same color as
a stitching so so this is going to be a
perfect addition to all the accents of
purple in the room and it’s going to
like guess it’s going to hang across on
that wall so the glare issue isn’t going
to be as bad because there’s no windows
on this side of the bedroom to glare
onto the
project so that’s
nice I just figured I I was debating cuz
I don’t always put the frame uh the
covering on when I frame um but I
thought you know what I I don’t want it
to get
Dusty to the point where at you know
every year or so I have to like get a
vacuum or something and vacuum off the
stitching so I I decided to cover it
up the other thing that I FF OED
is I don’t even remember what it’s
called playing with Jack I think
something about
Jack I can’t remember the
designer but I did frame this one by
myself as well I I think I only put this
the fabric around mat board not foam
board again not completely perfect but
it’s it’s good enough and it seems a
little lopsided like it this is so high
and there’s more space down here but
um yeah that is kind of the case a
little bit it looks even more so because
there’s no this border doesn’t go all
the way down and there’s just these
leaves kind of Dipping down at the
bottom but I still think it looks
great framing by yourself can be done
people it can be done it’s not easy I’m
not going to say it’s like a walk in the
park cuz especially with this one I had
it like halfway pinned and I like all of
a sudden I realized there was way more
space like this was almost at the very
bottom of the frame whereas this on top
had like twice as much fabric and I was
going to go with it because I had got
that far I did not want to take it out
and
and redo it but I took a break from it
and left it for like a
week and thankfully I got
the drive and the desire that I needed
the en the
energy to go ahead and take out what
I’ve already done and start from square
one on it and you do you have to really
stretch it and really
those pins are necessary like I don’t I
don’t think I could have done that on
matboard I I you really need to stretch
it and then pin into the foam
board to be able to get it
um very centered and try to get those
lines straight and
then do that as much as you can and then
from there that’s when you actually go
through and you lace the back the extra
fabric on the
back and tighten it as much as you can
can and then you take your pins out and
from there you kind of see where you’re
at and you can it’s stretched so much
that it’s hard to try to maneuver it but
you can slightly maneuver it up and down
which is really helpful because there’s
just some parts that were like a little
wavy instead of a straight line so I was
able to kind of scrunch the fabric back
and pull it down in other areas to
get those lines as straight as I
possibly
could this Frame cost you know like not
even $30
it’s it wasn’t
expensive if I were have got that framed
professionally I don’t even know how
much it would
cost really really really
expensive
um so I was I mentioned earlier I was
looking for
um a fabric for my bed elephant and I
wanted I had it in my mind all of a
sudden I wanted something really bright
and
vibrant um to kind of give that
Moroccan
glass Vibe because eventually when I in
my forever home I want to have a room or
maybe the master bathroom or something
that’s Moroccan and it has those like
lanterns hanging down and it’s just like
a mood it’s just a Vibe you go in there
and it feels good you can like have your
tea in the cool Moroccan type glass you
know a pretty colored
glass and just hang around in there
um so bajul elephant
and Paisley peacock are two projects
that I would have in that room and so I
wanted a bright vibrant fabric for those
and I ran across some Fabrics at um
filicious fibrous yummy fibers on
Instagram maybe it was and they were it
was really bright so I thought why don’t
I
finally stray away from one two three
stitch and see about these other fabric
Dyers that are out there that everyone
always talks
about and I found a couple Fabrics that
I thought were really
beautiful um and I even signed up for
their fabric of the month
club
now this has a happy
ending um I got the two Fabrics that I
ordered for Paisley peacock and Beed
elephant and they were not like what I
was expecting I’ll even put pictures
in that being said I don’t want to dog
on the company because they were very
nice even though they have a disclaimer
that you know depending on the
different um type of fabric you choose
whether it’s Ada linen um even weave
that sort of
thing it’s going to die differently so
they kind of let you know that and that
you your computer screen is going to
show differently maybe than what’s in
person all all the disclaimers and so I
went with it still but when I got the
fabric I was like wo who it’s totally
different
than what I was expecting like so much
so that I can’t even like the green one
I couldn’t even use that I don’t even
know what I would use that for it was
it’s just wo not like the picture and
then the the pink and purple
one I didn’t mind it I thought it was
still pretty but it just
wasn’t as much like the picture as I
thought like it all looked very purple
to me it just was like ombre
purple so you know I reached out
thinking they’re going to tell me no you
can’t return these
because we have that disclaimer up and I
even took pictures like I said I showed
you of like the side by side to just try
to reiterate my point like wow this is
really just too different and they were
nice and they said yeah we do have the
disclaimer but you know what go ahead
and return it um which made me so happy
because
I am I’ve been receiving the um f uh the
fabric of the month from them I’m
getting 32 count and I’ve loved both of
the Fabrics so March was called Shamrock
en
roll and it looks like
this isn’t that really
pretty I totally can see a mirabilia or
a mer even a mermaid on
[Music]
here very beautiful fabric right
there and then April’s came in it’s
called Magnolia
magic and it’s this
pink again very
pretty I was thinking that the Paisley
peacock could even go on there but it’s
a little too light if it if all the
fabric was this
dark pink right here that very vibrant
darker pink if the whole thing was
that I think I could
but yeah so those are the two um Fabrics
of the month that I’ve received I’ve
never done a fabric of the month club
but I thought you know what if I’m going
to have some extra fabric cuz I do have
some extra Fabrics which you’ll see in
my other video that I that I
film some of the extra Fabrics are cuz I
have some sort of problem when I order
every once in a while for some reason I
put two in the cart and don’t notice and
I buy it anyway does that happen to
anyone
else um so I have an extra piece of
fabric because of that
um or they’re just like I thought they
were going to work for a project and I
received it and it’s like no I don’t
want to use it for that’s not what I was
thinking and what are you going to do so
you’re just kind of stuck with it um so
I’m hoping that one day I’ll be able to
use a lot of the my
stash
Fabric and then my other haul that I got
that I’m really super excited about is
um a mirabilia it’s
called delin Butterfly Brigade and I had
never seen this one um I think I was
watching
Samantha the Huga Stitcher and she has a
butterfly fairy maybe I’m not sure it’s
a
mirabilia and it has something to do
with butterflies so I was kind of
looking for that and I stumbled across
this
one and I just thought she was so
beautiful I like the color of her
dress and all the different colored
butterflies and her wings are really
pretty and she’s holding this like Fern
type thing that’s kind of hanging over
her
head really love that I love butterflies
I even have butter a small butterfly
tattoo yeah you know it’s kind of hidden
in a spot no one can see but and I don’t
I’m I I don’t mind that I have the set
too but I will say there was not a lot
of thought put into that tattoo I just
was like I like butterflies and I want a
tattoo so I got
one so anyway I I do love butterflies so
this is
good um and then I also got the bead
pack I got this on
eBay this is the first time I’ve gotten
a bead pack and I’m glad I did because
there are tons of
beads one pack of treasures and some
bugle beads
so that’s really fun and I got this kind
of at the same time as this Shamrock and
roll fabric I thought well maybe this
will even look okay on this
fabric but I don’t
know this green that she stitched
on
is there’s a lot more blue in
this where this one’s more like there’s
got to be some yellows and I don’t know
maybe some brown in there or something
to give it that color so I’m not
sure I’m thinking about it I’m not
starting this really anytime soon at
least not this year so I’m not concerned
about having a fabric for it quite yet
so that was my exciting
purchase um yeah I think that that about
oh no all right sorry about that I had
to grab the project cuz I have I
remembered that I’m doing a cital along
and I couldn’t remember the name of the
project off the top of my head so I had
to go grab it but Leah um she has a
floss tube channel here on YouTube and
her channel name is rhubarb patch studio
if you want to check her out she is also
she also has this
pattern and we decided to stitch it
together start it
together and it is called the annual
border by the drawn
thread very
pretty it just screams spring when all
these type of flowers
grow which is what’s going on right now
with the daffodils poking out tulips are
on their way mine will not be because
the bunnies eat them I think I don’t
know what happens the little round bulb
shoots out and then it’s like the next
day you look at it to see where it’s at
and it’s just like someone took a pair
of scissors and chomped it right off and
I think the bunnies eat them but other
people have tulips that I can look at um
but there’s different things other I’ve
seen crocuses mine don’t really Bloom
anymore either I need to plant those
again and then um
[Music]
hense a lot of different annuals are
coming out right now it’s beautiful to
look at so this is what is
surrounding and then um inside here it
has the names of all the different
flowers that you’re stitching there’s
some sort of like I don’t know if those
are cross
stitches in kind of a almost like a
fence a cross cross-hatch fence sort of
look around the quote that says one is
never
oh one is
near well that doesn’t make any sense to
me one is nearer God’s heart in a garden
than anywhere else on Earth I guess if
you wanted to have more words in here
maybe they couldn’t f it it would be
like one is nearer to God’s heart in a
garden than any where else on Earth and
so I’m not sure I’ll keep that quote
because you know I’m not super super
super religious or anything but we’ll
see I don’t really mind religion
but do I want to stitch stuff like that
I don’t know um okay so yeah excited
that we’re going to start this together
it’s we’re going to start on May 5th um
we talked about May 3rd
but my daughter is having a birthday
party on May 4th that’s a Saturday at a
playground so I thought you know what
I’m not sure how
much I’m going to be trying to get
things together for that um the Friday
night before so we we
selected May 5th which is a Sunday so
I’ll have the birthday party out of the
way and behind me and be able to sit
down and
relax with a
start with a friend
yay so that will be something in May I’m
definitely going to pull out some of my
marab bilas I’m not going to say it’s
like a whole mirabilia may like I did
last
year but some mirabilia are going to
come out it I ordered the whole package
from the drawn thread which I’ve never
done before so it came with the called
for fabric and all the threads so
there’s two cards of threads and one
great reason to do this is
because they use silk in colors dinky
dyes needle point
silks you don’t have to kit that up
yourself and they give you just the
amount that you need which is
good so I don’t have to color convert to
DNC and then it be weird greens like I I
have on some of my drawn threads and
there’s actually three different colors
of beads in here so that’s kind of fun I
don’t know where they go but that’ll be
nice okay guys I am going to clean this
up
and I think I’m going to show you my
other like where I store my stuff in a
different
video and then I don’t know if I’m going
to have both videos come out on the same
day or not we’ll see I’ve never done
this before so until then Happy
stitching bye

  1. What great progress, especially the gorgeous chatelaine! Thank you for sharing close-ups of your work – few flosstubers do.

  2. A good thing to do with full coverage projects is to do test stitches on your fabric. I do 100 stitches 1 over 1 on 25 count and then do 2 over one tent stitch and then see which one I like best. I love all your projects. Beautiful stitching.

  3. I rarely find a flosstuber of whom I can say that I love all the projects. Congratulations on your finishes and thank you for the words of encouragement for those of us who are tempted by framing ourselves the finished projects!
I also love the two fabrics that you have chosen, they both seem great for a Nora or a Bella.
    Happy stitching!

  4. Beautiful framed piece. Beautiful projects. My favorite is still esther waves😊.
I had a bad experience with handdyed fabric I ordered from UK. And it was on website absolute green, I get complete yellow (was no green paint used). So I contact them. They said when you ordered handdyed fabric it can be very different. Yes, that I understand but not if its neon yellow and not green. I could send it back but than I had to pay all the sendcost (for retour and to my home). So still very expensive. So I put the photo of my fabric and the photo of their fabric from website on IG. I get a lot of comments with too different no green used. Than they get angry, because I couldn't use a photo from there site.
So I never ordered any handdyed fabric.
So I am glad you experience is better on the end.
    Happy stitching
