  1. Again prefect timing, Brian. I have a lavender plant in a large pot that I planted last year and I'm not sure if it made it through my N.J. winter. But I'll trim it back, give it a very, very light sprinkle of fertilizer and hope for the best. Thanks Brian.

  2. Lavender oil on the soles of your feet, helps you go to sleep (makes feet soft too). Love the flowers in scone batter too.

  3. Love the perennial plant/ flower care!! I haven’t cut mine often enough! Great video! Felt your pain cutting the drip line! Been there! Thank you as always! 😊🪴

  4. I hate the taste of it, but I make lavender vinegar. I use this to clean with. I prune at least three times a year and like them as rounded shrubs.

  5. Have you ever had any surprises jump out at you while pruning, especially the ground hugging plants ? 🌷💚🙃

  6. In your opinion what is the best lavender to grow? I want to plant lavender this year. Zone 6a. 🌷💚🙃

  7. I am yet to plant my garden! I want to create a flower bed in front of the house and raised beds in the back. Ugh, waiting for help it's not my favorite or forte. I would rather do it myself but right now it's not possible. I hope I will have a garden this year. Great video! Loved the close up to see exactly what you were doing! At the other house I left my rosemary to grow and could not prune it anymore, it was too woody. I tried one and had to take it out, it was in the wrong place anyway.

  8. So we have a couple lavender plants and I used a bunch to make my own lavender olive oil. It was amazing with some good sourdough bread. 😉

  9. I grow lavender just for the look of it with my roses. I'm in zone 5b Canada and prune it after it blooms in the fall. I don't get any woody growth that way. I grow the Munstead variety. Bonny

  10. I have five different varieties of lavendar. The French type is better in cosmetics/skin care and makes a lovely bath, just steep in a big pot and put into the bath. English type is better for culinary, I put it in my tea, with bergamot. Lavendar is one of my favorite plants!

  11. For the life of me I can never keep any variety of lavender alive! I’ve tried so many methods… I love it so much I buy new plants every spring lol…

  12. Every year I plant some lavender and try to grow it. Every year I lose it. To see you cut back those beautiful blooms hurts my heart.

  13. WOW, thanks Brian! Great timing as am thinking it's getting to be that tine in zone 5a. You can read all you want but seeing someone so fearlessly go at it bolsters my trimming courage :O)

  14. You are well versed both in vegetable and flower gardening, perhaps you can help me with a dilemma? What do you think about planting rows of poppies between tomatoes? I am a patio gardener with a deer problem, and I would really like to grow poppies. The vegetable beds are the only area where I have deer protection. Thoughts? Appreciate your expertise 🙂

  15. My kids love love love lavender honey ice cream and lavender lemonade. I also make butter cookies with a lemon lavender frosting.
