Regularly asked question
Q) Why are there comments from days ago when this video has just gone live today?
A) Patrons https://www.patreon.com/techmoan usually have early access to videos. I’ll show the first version of a video on Patreon and often the feedback I get results in a video going through further revisions to improve it. e.g. Fix audio issues, clarify points, add extra footage or cut extraneous things out. The video that goes live on youtube is the final version. If you want to see the videos early and before any adverts are added, you can sign up to Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/techmoan

  1. Nice video. Thank you for all your work! My thought on the noise your hearing is the inherent noise of the device- it does say it's SNR is only 50dB- that's pretty noisy. good deck might get you to 80dB. The noise floor is built into the built-in amplifier and other electronics. Thanks again!!

  2. Oof, that noise floor. There's no way that's 50dB below signal. 30dB is probably generous.

In the future when you need to record what bluetooth sounds like, you can get bluetooth speakers with headphones out, which you could record directly… There's other less common devices that'll go straight to line-out, too.

  3. Sounds comparable to the portable cassette players I used when I was in high school. Middle of the road but good enough.

  4. Question is, why do you waste money on these things if you know they're just going to be utter crap?

  5. A fashion accessory for those who are not "hip" or "cool" but want everyone else to think they are 🤣 Cassettes weren't 'audiophile' stuff then or now, but they were the best portable format widely used at the time, and they were and are good enough for casual listening. If you want to really prove your 'coolness' buy an original and refurbish it- then I'll be impressed.

  6. Remind me of the old cheap cassette player still available in 90's, usually have that kind of noise.

  7. Fail product also why doesn't it come with headphones ???

I still have my Aïwa portable cassette player . It had radio and auto-reverse and other features .

This "we are rewind" is garbage like habits lately …

  8. Mother of God… that is overpriced crazy. I thought it might be around 50€ or something, but not 3x that… even with the best, Sony-quality player mechanism and everything included it would be too much.
