Any amount of mealys are concerning but no, you don’t have to cut or start over. Just spray the plant with a 1:3 isopropyl alcohol/water spray. If you see any bugs specifically, take a q-tip, dip it in rubbing alcohol, and dab it on the bugs. Keep checking on your plant for a week or so and you should be good
