Ive had this avocado plant outside in a pot for 3-ish months, watered appropropriate amounts every 3 days, it gets a good amount of light.

Does this call for cutting off affected areas, or start from scratch?

    Any amount of mealys are concerning but no, you don’t have to cut or start over. Just spray the plant with a 1:3 isopropyl alcohol/water spray. If you see any bugs specifically, take a q-tip, dip it in rubbing alcohol, and dab it on the bugs. Keep checking on your plant for a week or so and you should be good
