My yellow squash are disappointing so far too. I have seen very few pollinators this year so that may be a correlation.
I’ve had luck with Cocozelle and other Italian varieties! Also ronde de nice
My crookneck are still small but hanging in there.

Take the flowers after they open and close halfway. Put like a peice of cheese or a meatball inside and sear it super hard. Sauce it and eat it. Super high end thing. Cheap af at home
Try companion planting to attract pollinators.
