Hello,
I had seen “zebra haworthia” in the past, and had always thought they were cool plants, but never really paid them much attention. Then I saw a random picture of a large specimen plant, and I was blown away how cool they look (for some reason I had always assumed they stayed small and unremarkable).
This lead to me reading up on them, and seeing all the different species, and becoming obsessed with windowed haworthia. I then made the mistake of going to a local garden center that has a large selection of cactus and succulents. They had few cool ones that I got dirt cheap, compared to my typical addiction (orchids). Then I made the mistake of looking on Etsy, eBay, found a collector in my area….and now I over 30 plants…..and more on the way. I’ve also started adding Gasteria, and some Astrophytums to my collection as well. 😩
My question is: is there any hope for me now? Is it over? Can this be stopped? Or do I just succumb, and accept my new fate?
thanks for any help you can give!

As someone who started out with 3 plants, yes this is your new fate. Embrace it 🤗
Accept your new fate … I too started with a simple “zebra plant” and now have a couple hundred lol.
Yep, enjoy the ride!
Invest heavy in haworthia, and lightly in astrophytum. Haws are nearly impossible to kill, and asterias will just spontaneously rot for no reason whatsoever lol
ONE OF US! ONE OF US! ONE OF US!
I too started with a zebra haworthia 😩
youre cooked
toast
windowed haworthia are my favorite! you’re definitely cooooooked but your collection is so cute. i especially like those white square pots ^_^
Haworthias to Gasterias to Astrophytums to Ariocarpus to Lithops to Lophlophora. It never ends….
Yes, welcome. I started out with 3 plants and now have a room dedicated to them. Good luck!
Haworthia are awesome – super diverse, reasonably cheap (compared to Arios, copiapoa etc) and pretty resilient plants! Dive in and join the crew, it’s a good time!
A zebra was my first haw as well. I have like 12 various haworthias/haworthiopsis now. I’m slowly becoming more obsessed since they do well for me without grow lights. Welcome
Yeah I’ve kinda just become the live-in steward of my plants apartment. I may have gone a bit overboard myself 😅

There’s a lot of empty space here because I just replaced all the gravel in the trays and I’m repotting basically my whole collection at this point. Stupid root mealies..
This is so beautiful
growing from seed, then learning to pollinate, then learning to make clones. it doesnt stop if you love it haha
I just started reading more about Haworthias recently, I purchased mine about a year ago, just repotted it to a slightly bigger pot last week. Never really been a plant person but one of the plant shops came into my job’s lobby to sell all kinds of plants, and the rest is history lol. I got this one as my office plant, but I kinda want more now…

Just accept your fate. Resistance is useless
Yup, you’re cooked. Best thing you can do at this point is join your nearest CSS
and fully integrate.
Welcome to the club….and I keep trying to find more room
