Yea I live in Tucson and see it at least once pretty much every time I go on a hike and walk past thousands of them lol.

I have seen it once before with my own plant (opuntia humifumosa) . I think itās kind of similar to a āpineapple pupā with Trichocereus in that it starts out as a flower bud and changes its mind to become a pup. Mind you, Iām pulling this straight out of my ass and itās just a theory so I could be wrong but it makes sense in my pea brain hahaha I might have a picture
