Unless you gave specific instructions for watering Lithops, your roommate most likely would have killed your plant by overwatering. So forgetting about this plant was probably the best outcome.
Other than being very thirsty, it looks fine to me. Give it a drink and see how it reacts. Give it another drink about 2 weeks later. If it’s alive (and climate permits; indoors climate may not matter), it should plump back up and complete shedding it’s old leaves.

I think there’s possibly hope in the new leaves that are emerging….? Aside from any over or under watering issue. Don’t give up just yet!

It’s mid-split, so shouldn’t need very much water at the moment. The baby does look a little wrinkly though
