Masterwort, Hattie’s pincushion, Melancholy gentleman. Astrantia have many common names; the pincushion reference I totally get… melancholy gentleman, not so much. This is a plant that makes me happy not melancholy but then I’m not a gentleman so perhaps I’ve fundamentally missed the point of this reference, being of the opposite sex & generally of a fairly happy disposition
