Found on a hike near an old coal mine. If I were to seal it, would i be better off trying to find a lid that fits or can i use something else? I haven't looked but the glass was patented in the 1960s so im not sure on finding a lid.

    That is super cool. You could hot glue a cap on it and see how it does, as long as it doesn’t lose moisture I bet it will be fine.

    Cut a piece of a tough plastic baggie to fit and rubber band it.

    Honestly? Try a common Mason jar lid. The ones for home canning, you’d be surprised what will fit on an old jar!

    Seal it and seal it good, make sure it has some really good light. You’ll see it go between various stages of life and death.
