Y'all were a great help with my Livingstone whose cap had died and needed it removed. It's clear I could use little guidance when it comes to growing and maintaining lithops. These are my other two plants. Advice and constructive criticism are welcomed and appreciated.

Both pots look awfully shallow, as these root deep! usually about 4″ is recommended.

I don’t know how well we can judge from the surface, but soil in the first pot, at least, looks way too organic! I have mine in basically 95% inorganic mix of stuff, various sizes of grit.

When I see bark and black soil, I worry.

Beyond that, i don’t really understand measurements of water. Pots should have drainage. Then, when they’re thirsty (as your first pot is), you pour water until it runs out the bottom, and set them to drain for a bit. Gritty soil should be dry again in a couple of days.

The plants in the second pot seem full of water. I guess they finished splitting recently? anyway, not thirsty.

Are they getting enough light? They look rather stretched out.
