I'm a total newbie to plants and even more of a newbie to rescuing plants πŸ˜… got these in a large hardware stores garden section, they were broken off and laying in water (more so the little one). I potted them on 26/07 and the little one is now completely dead as you can see in the second picture. The roots on the one that is left are dark, similar to the little dead one, does this mean it will die too? Any help or advice is appreciated, thanks πŸ˜πŸŒ±πŸ’š

  1. The soil looks very wet in the first picture, these plants don’t mind drying out a bit before giving water again.

That soil is so effin wet. It’s fine if you only just watered after completely bone dry, but if not def stop overwatering

They’re sempervivums, outdoor plants that need full sun all day and poor soil that’s dry most of the time. They do well in rock gardens and similar. People used to plant them on roofs, they thrive in the sand and dust that gathers on roofs and they get all the sun they need
