Got this guy yesterday. I plan to change his soil into something better, but I was curious to what exactly this guy is and how to take care of him better.

    H.Fasciata variegated. You need to replant it into a different substrate from what is is currently in. Generally some kind of inorganic material. Perlite, diatomite, pumice, zeolite (I use pure diatomite) or even just 2-4mm gravel (you can sift some sand to make it and then just wash and dry it) don’t use basic sand because it actually retains a lot of moisture and gets somewhat compacted so roots have problems with growing through it. Mix this with abt 7-15% of organic soil that you already have and you’re good to go
