Year 2 of no lawn front yard

Hired someone to remove lawn and plant a mix of low-water plants, CA natives and some succulents in April 2023. Retained a handful of my previously established bulbs for non natives. I did the plant research and selection and decided placement based on slope and sun/shade conditions.
Does require a decent amount of weeding in springtime when rains are tapering off and the sun is out again. There are a few bald patches that need filling in. And some plants got too big and are overpowering their area so will remove or pare down.
