How is this done and what do you need for that?


Just saw this "creation" in the garden center and was kinda baffled… How do you rejoin a stems like that?

    you graft them together through fusion, some species of plant will naturally grow together if they’re close enough to.

    I experimented once with a acacia in my front yard, using a knife and duct tape -ideally use micropore/grafting tape

    The experiment was partly to determine how long and how well the grafting would take place.

    Took about two years until the duct tape was removed, and the fusion was only as deep as the notching was made. Overall it worked, but was a crude attempt

    Bonsai forming is built to the same principle, producing bends and twists, apart from the form pruning
