I’ve already taken all the flowers off as the petals were dropping, gave it a little trim, I also wand to remove one of the leaders. My main objective is to get it thicker and to bud back lower on the main leader.

Pretty little tree! I have a very similar plant, which I would also like to bulk up. I got mine last spring, & put it in a 14″ training pot, where it actually has grown thicker, enough to get some wire scars anyway. I’d say at least give yours a bigger pot. I’m just letting mine grow rampant, and plan to eventually trunk-chop or hard prune it in a few years. We had one in the ground which grew eight feet tall in maybe 5 years. My wife didn’t like it and took it out. Long before I was thinking about bonsai, a missed yardadori opportunity.
