if you’re having trouble with some of your seeds germinating you can try to take an insulated cup or container and soak them in warm water for 24 to 48 hours if you have a really heavily coated seed or a very thick seed you might want to try soaking it in that same amount of time 24 to 48 hours in some hot tea the tanic acid in tea should soften that seed and allow it to germinate I’m Pam this is Zone 8A and anywhere you can sit a pot you can grow a plant

I suck on the bigger seeds. It works. The compounds in our saliva or the digestive bacteria.
Try it with peas, beans and even sunflower seeds.
(I guess I could just spit on them. But that's not as cool as part of the process of growing life.)
I sucked on apple seeds, lemon tree seeds and dogwood tree seeds. The seeds grew. The ones I just planted bare didn't.
Ruminate animals have the same effect on grazing land, through steriod and growth hormones in their saliva.

Some seeds need a couple drops of liquid smoke in the warm soaking water if the seeds are from certain plants from areas where fires are relatively frequent. I can't remember what species but I know that a couple wildflower species need it

My grandma and then my mom always soaked the seeds before they planted them. Meaning any of those seeds that look like Bean seeds, peas yes etc. Sometimes my mom would just put them in a pail with water from the garden hose while she planted the rest of the garden.

With bigger seeds you can snip the tip off so water gets in, that way no need for a soak
We got a bunch of pepper seeds that weren't budging. Then we did the soaking method with new seeds and they started popping up like crazy! Now we have 25 happy healthy seedlings 🌱
