Did you want to keep it? Then soak it night before with water, Then dig say a 50cm circle around centre of plant with a shovel, should take half an hour.. if you want to kill it, dig closer to main root ball and should take 15min

Tie a rope around the base and pull it out with your tow ball

It really depends on the soil, how hard it is , if there’s rocks or gravel present, the root thickness, your tools shovel sharpness, crow bar? Your physical fitness… it could be a chip away at it until you need a rest time frame. Goodluck!

Straight roundup leave for a few weeks then it should dig up. Otherwise like the previous comment tie a rope t your tow bar and pull it out.. good luck they’re tough little critters

Really depends on how fit you are, if you have appropriate garden tools, what kind of soil you have, how deep the root system is, and how often you dig big holes.

Assuming you want to kill it, prune it back and get in there with a mattock. I’ve done it, they don’t root deeply.

Get tough nylon gloves to pull it as it can tear the skin

We had several of these. Root system wasn’t huge but digging it out took a lot of energy. My partner ended up with a rachet strap around it and pulled it out with the winch on his car, didn’t take long with that route 😅😃

While we’re here, does anyone have a recommendation on best tool to cut these bad boys back? I’ve got a few I like but struggle to keep them under control. Hedge trimmers don’t work for me

I had four of these in my frontyard and they were so dry. Took me 40mins and a broken shovel to get one out 🤣 but that’s me. I’ve no experience in gardening. So then I poured roundup n left it for a week n tried again. Was so much easier.
