What is this plant in my classroom and why is it dying? ðŸ˜
I inherited this plant from the previous teacher who managed to keep it alive, but now I’m in charge it’s starting to turn yellow. I’ve been giving it a cup of water twice a week. Help me please!
Looks like a Polyscias Frrticosa, or Ming Aralia Tree. Indian native tree I think.
Improper watering might be it’s cause of sadness. Might also need repotting or feeding of it has been in same pot and soil for years. Hard to tell.
Here is a care guide that might be helpful:Â https://www.thespruce.com/grow-polyscias-fruticosa-1902765

That is a big plant for such a small pot. I would bet it is rootbound and needs more water.

I’m not entirely sure what plant that is but you may want to take it to a florist or garden shop for assistance. They can help assess if its a roots issue or a disease.
Did you move it from its original spot in the room? Could a student be messing with it in your classroom? How long has it been so wilted?
If I were a betting person I would bet its root rot because its almost always root rot. Which is treatable by removing the dead roots.
