How long does it take for crimson clover seeds to mature after the entire flower has withered? I want to mow, but only after they’ve ripened, for self-seeding purposes.
Can you share a photo? I am interested in a cover crop for a back meadow. This sounds nice. Is it?

Most seed pods/heads aren’t ripe until they turn brown and crispy. Once they reach this stage they split open and disperse their seeds. Generally spring flowers will be ready by early to mid summer and summer flowers are ready in the fall. You might be waiting a bit to mow. If you can’t wait that long then just overseed manually with purchased seeds.
