First time attempting to propagate basil. Noticing growth on the sides but not directly at the cutting location? I had to cut some more off the end last week bc it was browning. Not sure what this kind of growth indicates!

Ha very interesting I wouldn’t expect from basil but that’s good to know! (I’m not an expert either by any means lol) buuuut I have a bunch of succulents that I’m starting to get better at understanding and I noticed after I started to kill a rather large one I had lol when I was trying to save parts of it, if the stem part was laying across dirt, it grew roots from the knots along it. But definitely would never expect something like basil to do this. Now I feel I need to find someone with a basil plant and ask for some clippings lol thanks for sharing
