Airplant

I need help with plant ID and browning

I got this plant for Christmas with no label. It seems to be growing but it recently started browning on some of the leaves. I water it by soaking the roots in water for 30 minutes once a week and letting it dry upside down. I left it in the sun on two sunny days thinking it would appreciate it as my pony palm does. Im guessing it might have gotten sunburnt? If someone could help me with identification and any care tips that would be great! Thanks!

Tillandsia capitata! Basic care just like any other airplant (there’s guides here, or someone else will chime in)

And yes, the browning is probably sunburn based off your post. The inner part of the plant looks healthy though.
