Planting a Bare-Root Fig Tree In Clay Soil #gardening

The final ‎‎@tractorsupply plant impulse buy. This is the third plant this spring we planted with the manure and native soil mix. We will conquer the clay or die trying!

This fig is a Chicago Hardy from DeGroot. According to the package, it was semi-dormant when packed and shipped, so it may take 4 to 6 weeks to see signs of growth. However, with all the green fresh growth on it when we planted, I’m not too sure how dormant it still was. We planted it March 31st, so we’ll be doing an update video here in the next week or two on its progress.
