Lawn Care

Wife thinks I’m crazy (she’s never wrong)

I sold my Cub Cadet rider to help fund a Toro Timemaster or Turfmaster, whichever I could find. Ended up finding a Turfmaster HDX and plan to push mow the rest of the year.
My yard is only .33 acre or so and push mowing took about an hour.
The cut on the Turfmaster is great, the self propelled is nice albeit a bit fast.
I guess the next thing to buy is a striping kit! Please tell me I'm not crazy!

Push mowers are much better for 1/3ac in my opinion

I recently did the same thing. It cuts so much better than my 42 inch rider

  3. I have about the same size, and I had a Cub 46″…when that died, I contemplated a TurfMaster/TimeCutter, but I do use my tow cart often, and my yard is a gentle slope, so pushing always sucks coming back up the hill. Having a ZT for such a small area is def overkill, but yeah…it’s a nice ride, and the cut is overall much better.

  4. I love my SC100, a little underpowered imo, but as long as I’m not trying to scalp, its a great mower.

I have 1/3 of an acre but closer to 1/2 if you include an easement I’m responsible for. I switched from a rider to a timemaster and ended up saving considerable time. A lot of time was wasted on the rider doing three point turns and backing up to go around obstacles. Now the rider is just for pulling a little dump cart around once in a while.

I have the turfmaster and use it for my 1/2 acre. I love it! Its a little heavy but it cuts well. I love the idea of the newer Scag 30 with casters, but the turfmaster is great for now

I have .5 acre of grass. I barely use my tractor. It’s a pain to navigate. I do enjoy being able to tow a aerator/other tractor things but I use a Timemaster 98% of the time

I did exact same thing 0.8 acres, no regrets. I’m in my 50s.
