Is anyone familiar with these glowni. The dark houseplants? I have a friend who wants to pre order one but I’m not sure how much I believe it’s a real thing.

Yup, I own one, it’s called a Firefly Petunia, 100% real, genetics were taken from bioluminescent mushrooms and combined with a petunia. Check out the subreddit r/fireflypetunia

I would only get one if maybe they stared making succulents or easy houseplants, never had a petunia before. I’d be afraid to kill it 😛
I feel a certain way about this, just not sure which way. Lol. I guess it’s no different than constantly emerging hybrids?

This is my firefly petunia with a 3 second long exposure. I happened to be home when it was delivered, and opened it instantly, and it was HOT. The back of the UPS truck must be an oven, I feel bad for those drivers. But it suffered a bit of heat stroke, and all the flowers fell off. It is still alive, though.
These are legit! I spoke with someone who has one and is also a plant scientist. I want one!
Yep! Got my three last week! I’ve been keeping them under my grow lights until it warms up outside a bit more, and um, not gonna lie I’ve been moving them onto the nightstand every night and it’s AWESOME. Waking up in the middle of the night to them is just awesome.
My professor has one of these! He let us see and it was really cool

It’s to the left by my monsteras. Came to me with 50% of the leaves dying in rough shape, it sprung back. It must be DARK for you to see the glow but it’s pronounced and very cool

Ahhh every time I forget about these they pop up again. I really want to purchase one but I’m supposed to be slowing down lol
