Does anyone know what causes these dark green, fast growing patches?

Dog pee, poop, or different type of grass.

To even it out, we have to have a bunch of dogs hang out in the yard!

  3. Dog pee is high in nitrogen, if your lawn is low in nitrogen you will get darker green and more growth. If your high in nitrogen, your grass will “burn” and die off. If you don’t want die off, the best thing to do is flush the dog pee area with water.

It’s likely dog urine. Also, people say you need to fertilize more often which is true…just be careful, if you fertilize YOUR entire lawn, those dark green spots will turn brown.

I still don’t understand why dog owners think it is okay for their dogs to pee and shit on other people’s property while they are walking the dogs. Some of them now are even walking them unleashed.

Put down a slow release fertilizer that won’t burn but help even it out.

    Hopefully something dog friendly

I suggest [milorganite](https://amzn.to/3WofH85) if you can find it available to you!

Lots of grass seed gets into one spot or there low points and they get more water

I agree with one of the comments above, my lawn is deficient in nitrogen and I know that, when my mother come here with her 3 dogs to my place for 2 weeks, where they did their pee and poop in the same areas the whole time they were here it boomed for about 3 months after they left. Clear areas where they peed and pooped like in this picture.
