A greenhouse near me has this display with live succulents inside! I thought this was so interesting and whimsical. I might try something like this myself. Wondering if anyone else has other ideas for repurposing items into planters.

Is that A. reitzii?
Not very unconventional, but I like vertically mounted succulents. I’ve seen many people had succulent wreaths and picture frames hanging on the door outside in coastal cities in California. Pretty sure it’s very low maintenance given high humidity.
You can plant them in wooden shoes (clogs) and hang them on your fence. You might create an Eco roof as well in your garden, on top mixed varieties like sempervivum are suitable for this
For heavens sakes, don’t lead your blind Aunt Mavis to that chair!

I made this for my friends wedding as a guest sign in book, then we sealed it and they had it under the awning of the front door so near the sun but completely shaded.
Here are a few of my favourites 🩷 This is an antique sewing machine stand with an old wagon body screwed to it , I love this one .

I love unusual garden decor . I claimed in a dumpster for a hunk of metal off an old tractor and turned it into a bench back and outdoor coffee table/planter .

Old farm implements make awesome planters . I stayed for 5 hours at a farm auction waiting for this piece to come up 😅 I just knew I had to have it 🩷

I also used this solar light lantern that broke on a windy day as planter.
I have a wheelbarrow with larger succulents and two old shallow small dresser drawers for the starters.
I built a two tiered wooden box once.
This is a mug, it was shaped weird for drinking out of so I drilled a hole in the bottom and stuck this Crassula yunnanensis in it
