Looking for help with this super sad looking plant. Should I go for the big chop on some of the vines?

I would personally chop and prop if you can (that’s what I do with anything super leggy). The leaves look like they’re either thirsty or drowning, haha. Does the pot have a drainage hole??

Plant killer bestie here!! If the plant doesn’t have a nursery pot… repot it to one that fits inside the now catch pot.

Check for root rot. You can also buy a hormone for roots to help with that. If not, you can add cinamon to them. Use regular any potting soil (but remove any bigish twig/bark that you may find). Add a slow release fertilizer. It can be a 14-14-14 or a 20-20-20 or whatever you can get. When adding new soil, i dont recommend pressing on to make it compact. I prefer to gently tap the sides as well as the bottom.

After repotting, you can water it, but i dont recommend it. Usually, soils when are in bags they are damp, leave as is. No watering for maybe….. 2ish weeks. Then water, soil must feel damp not wet. There is no need for water scheduling. Just repeat when needed. It will depend on your temperature, climate, and humidity.

As for pruning, leave that for the future. Let the plant aclimate to its new home, including the repotting. Maybe 4-5months from now. Then, ask for help on how to prune.

Yes, sometimes being this careful doesn’t work for me. My main issue is that when i water my babies, it rains here. So the soil takes FOREVER to dry. Zone 11a is humid af! Not to mention where i live at the moment it rains for a straight week or 2, then there is a draught period of a few weeks. And i kid you not! It could be 2-4weeks since my last watering. “I think it is safe now” check plant “yes deff they need it”. No warning of nothing for bad weather. Day after watering … rain for 2weeks, humidity in the 80s. 🫠
It aint easy living in the tropics!
