I finally had a chance to get out into the yard and plant some flowers! It’s always so relaxing and the end result calms my soul 🙂 I also had a chance to add some garden accents and beautiful two tone pathway lights from XM Cosy that I love. This is my first year ever planting snapdragons! Hope you enjoy being out in the yard with me!

hey friends and welcome back to the channel well it’s about that time around here the weather here in Georgia has finally warmed up for what I think is going to be permanent because we were having some cold days for sure wet and rainy but now the weather has warmed up nicely and so it is time for me to get outside I’ve been pretty anxious to get outside and get to planting me some flowers so here I am at the Home Depot and the flowers are just so beauti beautiful look at these these I’ve been kind of tempted to get me some patunas but you know for me patunas can be a lot of work I don’t know my real gardeners out there I’m striving to be a real Gardener you know you have to dead head the patunas and all and so I don’t know but I thought these were just so so pretty and then these I came across the Snap Dragons and these are just absolutely beautiful I did want something that’s going to have a little bit of height in those two areas that you saw there in the yard on either side of the driveway and so I also love the price and that these are full sun so but I can remember y’all these flowers were $1.98 I can remember when the Home Depot flowers were 98 cents but just like everything else flowers have gone up also and so ultimately I chose to go with that beautiful burgundy color and then the yellow in the Snap Dragons and I also picked up me me a Wandering Jew and I got me some dusty miller and here are some of my garden accessories that I’m going to be using today not quite sure what what I’m going to do with it but just like I do on the inside I just pull out whatever I have for my outside and go with that and also I want to show y’all look at these huge ferns that I picked up I picked these up from a Fruit Stand they had these gorgeous huge ferns the camera is really not doing them Justice Friends of the twins they are huge and they are exactly what I want up at the top of the driveway and the area I’m talking about is actually outside of the gate I mean at the very very beginning of the driveway I think these will be just perfect and it is shaded up there and the ferns will be just fine I’m so happy to be partnering with XM cozy again and they sent me these gorgeous pathway lights I love these because they have that bronze color on them it is just so pretty and also sent me some more spotlights and these are the ones that have that Bubble Glass look and so I’m also going to be working with these outside in the yard today we’re going to start here with the pathway lights going to go ahead and get those open up now my favorite thing like I mentioned earlier about these is actually the color it has the bronze and wood two-tone look and it actually accents the color of my house nicely so I really love that I also love that the bulb inside of your pathway light is actually more of a vintage look and you’ll see that in just a moment so here is how it comes packaged they come as a set of four and they are really easy to assemble in less than 5 minutes you will have all four assembled and ready to place out in the yard and once you’ve gotten everything put together then friends of the twins you would just simply need to go ahead and to take the top off here you see it has a I love the fact they have these vintage looking bulbs but you just pull this piece of paper out and it activates your light and they all come with a high-capacity rechargeable battery and so if you’ll combine this with the fact that you have a high conversion rate with your solar panel here then friends of the twins you will be aord the luxury of having solar powered lights From Dusk to Dawn and I kind of mentioned earlier that this is really the start of our getting out and doing some maintenance and getting some flowers planted here in the yard and so one of the first things that Su get and I wanted to do was to just kind of refresh the mulch here around my Japanese [Music] Maple and when I tell you my Japanese m Maple has now filled in so beautifully and the color is a fiery red now that is what I am used to I actually brought this plant I had someone come over and transport it for me from my old house so we brought it here and it kind of went through a shock but each year that it comes back it is growing in you know in a way that what I am used to I feel like the tree is getting healthier and healthier each season now I want to share for you a closeup of my spotlights these will be a beautiful addition to our Landscaping efforts these were sent to us by an Amazon company called XM cozy and I will have all of their information as well as a product link down in the description box for you here I’m just sharing with you how I am going to put my Spotlight together it was really easy and I love the beautiful design of it I love the fact that this Spotlight has an acrylic suspended bubble light post I thought that that was just very unique and you’ll see friends of the twins once it lit up it is indeed brilliant Friends of the twins once you have it put together be sure to turn it on I think people sometimes forget to turn on their solar light it’s really easy to do you just Mash this button here and it has three different modes you can control your brightness and then click four times or Mash four times if you want to turn it off and here it is Friends of the twins this is a night View and of course they are waterproof and they can also sustain temperatures of -4° all the way up to 140° F and so if it’s raining if it’s snowing no worries Friends of the twins they got you covered did I mention y’all how much I like this bubble light I really do like that in addition to the solar spotlights XM also has a variety of outdoor lighting to include string lights and so check the description box down below so the first thing that I need to do is to get these beds cleared out a little bit I know I hadn’t really done anything out here in the yard since the weather turned cold last fall going into winter and once it turned cold and it was time to take the fall stuff up that was kind of it for me so just going to get started getting it cleared out here a little bit I know it has been a bit of an adjustment living here in the woods I will say because there is just so much activity and what I mean is nature being so much more in tune and closer to Nature we have several Birds um Hawks crows squirrels deer and then in when the weather warms up up and it gets hot the bugs are on 10 looks like the mosquitoes are the size of my fist so just getting used to all of that but I was sharing with you that gorgeous color of these Snap Dragons now like I said your girl is not a real Gardener but I certainly want to be one and so for those of you that are familiar with the Snap Dragons now this is my first time ever planting these and I was sure to choose plants that could take the full sun because as you see there is no shade here in this area so they will receive full sun but uh if you have any tips about the Snap Dragons like do I need to do anything to them do you deadhead them in any kind of way y’all just leave me some comments and let me know you know let your girl know how to take care of these beautiful Snap Dragons last year if you all remember we actually took on three Landscaping projects and these two flower beds here on either side of the driveway was actually one of those projects and this is sui’s favorite one this year I plan to take on another Landscaping project I have two in mind uh one of them will probably involve building a platform I just want to have areas throughout the yard so that when the kids come you know they’ll be multiple seating areas and I would love to have a fire pit area I just want to be able to you know enjoy all of this flat land and so I do have a couple of landscape projects that are going to be coming down the pipeline here soon and want to be sure to go ahead and get started with I was just talking to sui about it here about a day ago because once it gets hot here in Georgia it will be too hot like last year I look back we were kind of late getting started on those projects and in the summertime here in Georgia if you haven’t gotten out and watered your flowers early in the morning I will say by 9:00 it is almost too hot for you to be out there so I was telling him you know if we’re going to do this let’s let’s go ahead and start kind of planning it out and and go ahead and get that first project out of the way and here are my Dusty Millers I did want to tell y’all I have Dusty Millers that I planted in my wheelbarrow last year and they are out in the front yard in the shade under that under uh that tree do you all know that those Dusty Millers never did die back they stayed throughout the entire winter now Winters are much milder here in Georgia and um you know we to me here in Georgia now I’m Georgia born and breed our Winters are a lot less harsher and the summers are definitely hotter and so to me we only have in the winter here I feel like we only have maybe a good 10 days in which the weather is really really cold other than that it is pretty much a mild winter now some of my Georgia Friends of the twins out there y’all let me know what you think you know about your neck of the woods my initial thought with this planter here with the Snap Dragons in it was to put me a container together with the variety of these three plants in it and see how it came out now I’ve never tried this combination before but I chose these three because I knew that the dusty miller probably would not grow quite as tall as as a Snap Dragons which I think will grow possibly up to 24 Ines so I knew that I would have variety of height and with the wondering je I also wanted something that was going to hang over a little bit so I don’t know I had never tried this before so your girl was definitely willing to give it a try [Music] [Music] ultimately Friends of the twins your girl chickened out I actually ended up moving the stap dragons and putting them into the dirt and I brought back my ferns once I had the Snap Dragons all planted in the in the pot there it along with the dusty miller and the wondering youth they were not full enough and I know I know they would grow in but I guess I wanted a little bit more drama with it and so I had my ferns out last year here I planted I had ferns sitting here and so I just decided to go back with the ferns I like the presentation of it and it gives me just a little bit more drama which is exactly what I wanted but everything turned out beautifully I do have a couple of other new plants in here that I planted this year and those are some zenas and some Cen KO so I’ll be keeping my eye on those to see how they do this year and I just want to give y’all another look here at my swings that I put up last year man have we really enjoyed those and as I mentioned before these are actually sui’s two favorites from our last year’s landscape project Pro these two garden beds but I think that the swings are actually mine here is a night view of my new Pathway lights I’m really enjoying those if I did not have lighting out here at night Friends of the twins it is dark dark dark the kind of dark where you can’t see your hand before your eyes that kind of dark and so I’m so happy to have these Pathway lights they shine
