I can see the frustration with the hammers .. must make you appreciate your neighbours perspective with all the action that goes on in your place 🌻
Laura, you are the epitome of what you go through to produce such awesome gardens. I just wish I had one-tenth the energy you have. But at 86, I can only admire everything you do. Thank you for all you do.
I’m totally obsessed with your channel, thank you, you are amazing. I love that you post nearly everyday, I get so excited when I see a new one.
Your garden is stunning , your advice and teaching is perfect.
And your children are so cute.
Thank you xx
It looks like ya'll should be yelling "DOROTHY!" lol
Just found a silver gumdrop heuchera at a family owned nursery the other day. The pot practically jumped into my arms! 😉 It's so beautiful.❤
I also live in the treasure valley, I love the interesting weather we have, with the exception of the havoc it does to our trees especially! the mad dashes to bring things in or under shelter. It keeps things interesting!
Laura it would help me so much if you would mention the drippers quantity of water and how long you have to run the water to sufficiently water ie the tree roses using the 1/4” brown tubing with 6” emitters, and the rose bush emitters you put on. Was that a 1/2 gph and for how long would you have to run that line for? It would really help me figure out my garden since I am familiar with Boise/Ontario weather having lived in the area before.
Do you keep a map of all your plants? I can’t imagine how you keep track of the plants. Love your stories.
WOW that was scary.
Was like the Wizard of Oz there for a moment! People burning?? wait what?
Yes you should and probably hide the foot path with plants
That wind storm was crazy…! Thank you for sharing…!
We don't get your mild winter but we do get that kind of wind up here in Alberta. I just had a tree land on the top of my garage a week ago. It didn't do any damage.
My vote is to do something different instead of boxwood on the Hartley path. Not sure exactly WHAT instead, but with a less formal vibe…..you will figure it out, no doubt!!
More boxwoods! Finish the formality in my opinion. Then cross over to the woods by the pond 😂 two different scenarios
Goodness what a wind ❤️
I think I like rose trees in containers better than in the ground. They look more balanced and substantial. Love the placement of the heucheras….perfect!!
From which direction do your windstorms blow from? In Northern California we’ve just experienced 21 mph gusts for the past 2-days. The lowest temp was in the 50s. Today it’s 78° ☀️
Heuchera has proven to be a biannual for me, after the first year they don’t come back as strong then they tend to not come back at all the next.
Thank you Laura phew glad the trees made it through the wind storm.
Gosh, I thought Kansas had crazy weather, but you all get it, too—-HUGE wind storm and then getting down to 27 degrees IN MAY?! Wow. I love that ice plant, and moving the heuchera to that other spot is great. It really compliments the bird bath. I vote for having boxwoods come all the way down to where you put the rose trees in the pots. I think that'd be really nice.
Horrible wind! 😱 Don't you normally get a weather warning or alert for these dangerous winds, so that you can prepare?
That would be helpful!
I love the idea of Boxwoods down the lane with a small opening on the side to access the next opening. Would you ever consider planting those roses in the ground in that spot?
I have a koko loko and its a bit of a diva- I put it in a pot and just put it in my garage to overwinter….and you must gently harden her off- I just learned that lesson…sheesh! But…she's worth it! Blessings from Ontario Canada 🙂 The best is yet to come!
Wow it’s 88 in South Georgia with humidity
The winds were 60mph ? That's like a tropical depression
Omg looks like a mild hurricane in Florida 😊 ❤from Florida
Laura, please be extra vigilant with the ice plants. They tend to grow wherever a leave drops and spread like crazy!!!
Wow that wind reminded me of some tornadoes I’ve been in. I hope your umbrella made it.
Such an interesting video
You deal with such weather conditions!
NO more Hosta
Too dark
I had two large 30inch pots filed with delosperma, some 6 years old, they was hanging almost to ground and was balls of purple blooms during season and I meneged to kill them past winter, with not enough of watering, they are plants that like to be on dry side but they dried out beyond saving, was keeping them until two weeks ago in hope they'll push new growth but no, my other delosperma already start pushing bloom buds. So yeah dear gardening children, listen to aunt Laura 😂, just kidding a bit, but winter watering of your pots is important and do not skip thing, I learned it hard way.
Do you know who your new neighbors are going to be? Maybe a Garden Answer subscriber?
I enjoyed you letting us enjoy your wind storm so very much, Thank you. You guys are the BEST.
Laura I would be a little worried about planting roses in the same spot where another rose has been ..they don't normally do as well as they should ..it makes the soil a bit sick ..I found this out the hard way ..perhaps use completely new soil in the pots and dig out the soil in the ground where the old rose was ..
Where’s Cheddar? Haven’t seen him in awhile
I used to live close to a property that had about 6 different colors of ice plant on their frontage. 15 feet deep and YARDS long. It was glorious when they were all in bloom, I just loved them. That was SOME WIND!
Wow! That wind storm! How amazing to be along vicariously! Thanks, Laura. ❤❤
I love the roses 🌹 I have trouble with mine getting sawfly larvae😢, do you recommend a systemic insecticide or a spray against them?
I rather enjoyed watching the storm from the Hartley as it passed through. Thanks for sharing that unusual footage.
Thanks for showing us how it is when you garden not just sunny all the time this was a great video on how the weather comes and goes and sometimes hurts or garden but it's life and this is the most realistic video so far,I learn so much from you Laura.Hugs from NC
Do you fine things blooming in your brush pall?
Oh my lanta! The wind looks horrible, if we had wind like that in Michigan it probably turn into a tornado. I'm so grateful everyone was safe.
