Dieffenbachia update: growth has been filling in nicely.

2️⃣ These leaves are the pups/offsets from a single HUGE specimen. The original plant was getting to be too tall so the owners rooted a section above the soil and, once new roots were established, they cut out the bottom section and gave it to me.

Both have their charm. Neither was worried about lower leaves falling off.
