Where are the collars I was expecting to see? Should I just put it back in the ground and hope it doesn’t die? I planted a tuber or two three years ago and left them in the ground. I live in southern Oregon near Medford so the winters are pretty mild. Any suggestions?

When tubers are this big, I saw them in half/thirds/quarters. Then I see what I can get off cleanly! Otherwise, you can plant the bigger tuber sections as well.
