Should I cover the bottom of this container in case metal leaches into the soil?

Just got this mini greenhouse and would like to use it for a terrarium. The bottom is galvanised steel. From cursory research it seems that the amount of zinc costing leached into the soil should be minimal unless the soil is very acidic – so it’s safe for most plants. However I’ll be putting in moss as well and I’m wondering if moss would perhaps be more sensitive to extra mental content?

I’m of two minds about this basically. What would you do if you were me? And how would you go about covering it if so? I’m thinking plastic lining glued to the sides with silicone but maybe I’m missing a better solution?

  1. You‘re overthinking this, would suggest more looking into if it is sealed to prevent water leaking out.

So here is solution for your water problem and it will also take care of your metal „problem“:

Plasti Dip or some other rubber coating from spray cans. It will add a smooth layer of rubberized coat. Just make sure you cover/tape the rest inside so it is not sprayed to the glass above the bottom line.
