David Domoney is back to surprise one lucky viewer with a front garden makeover. He will be given only the length of the show to complete the transformation. It’s a massive ask – will he do it in time?

so starting Today’s Show with the
ultimate surprise for one very lucky
viewer David Domin is going to attempt
his second live front garden makeover
during the show mhm after he did such an
amazing job at Leslie’s Garden in
Sheffield a few weeks ago he’s now ready
to go again he’s at a secret location
this morning good morning David good
morning hello good morning to you yes
another big challenge as we’re creating
a complete front garden transformation
in real time I know this is George’s day
is today that Garden is our Dragon here
are my Georges the team ready to go go
are you ready guys keep it down keep it
down we got to be quiet so we’re in a
secret location so have a look around do
you recognize where we are oh there’s a
eucalyptus gun ey over there do you see
that every morning as you’re leaving now
around the corner here we’ve got a very
special person that we’re going to
transform the whole Garden in that short
period of time do you recognize this
hedge is that close to you what about
this sign out the front you might spot
that this be your street as we’re about
to do a dramatic transformation I’m
coming up to the drive now do you
recognize the car the front of the house
yes Claire I’m talking to you we’re
going to be doing your garden so turn
that Telly off and come over to the
front door there’s a little bell here as
well I can hear the dogs barking on the
inside this is the garden that we’re
going to be transforming in a span of a
couple of hours so there’s quite a lot
to do in that period of time and of
course I’m waiting this is all live
happening to you right now and I’m just
taking a look there’s quite a bit of
transformation another little knock at
the door there CL are you in I can take
a little look I can hear the dogs
barking
there taking a the letter Bo is really
someone’s coming she’s on on the way
around there Claire hello good morning
come out a little bit very nice the dogs
would come out I can hear that’s in the
background or something like that so
this this is your front garden here it
is hello everyone hello so we’ve got
we’ve got a team here to do a
transformation now you wanted to start
doing your garden a while back but
something’s happened that’s that’s held
you back I’ve got cancer I’ve got
ovarian cancer um had it started in 2022
had an operation and chemotherapy and
and then earlier again well six weeks
ago had another operation so uh yeah
this I’m getting there I won’t get over
it I’ll just be kept into you know on
tablets to keep it under control but
yeah how you sound very positive in the
in the face aren’t you God bless you
yeah got to be and uh what does a garden
mean to
you just something nice to come home to
you know I mean look at it it’s it’s a
mess um just brightens your day up
doesn’t it it does and I can see your
windows just over there as well so you
look out onto this Garden too you got
some birds it’s lovely feeding the birds
is it yeah well that’s another thing as
well the plants bring the birds in don’t
it because it brings the Flies and the
bees and everything I just love Wildlife
so bless you well we’ll try and do
something like that and also just take a
look at what we’ve got on the garden
here you have got some wild flowers
growing the weeds and there gravel and
there’s a border here as well you’ve got
areas over this side to clear and and
you do you want to keep that for parking
a car don’t you preferably yeah okay so
we want something practical and
something beautiful at the same time
well behind me here look at this team
just here ready to get cracking and get
working we’ve only got a span to the end
of the show so that’s a little over 2
hours to do this complete transformation
so I’m going to ask you to if you go in
relax take it easy get yourself a cup of
coffee I’ll have a tea please it’s just
half a sure cameraman Lee he he is a
cheeky tea no you can
coffee and we’ll get on with the garden
itself to do this transformation 2 hours
so we better get cracking what do you

the the opportunity to have the garden
done especially when she’s going through
something like she is right now it be
lovely for her to able to look out on an
amazing Garden but it’s a big challenge
David as you know you got to work your
magic in just over two hours so you need
to get cracking good luck

surprised Claire in Somerset for a
special front garden makeer yeah dav’s
been working hard with the team let’s
find out how he’s getting on uh are you
on track David do you think you’re going
to be finished by the end of the
show oh they’re hard at it well we’ve uh
started off by we’ve started off by
clearing off all the uh all the old
Aggregate and putting it in to the skip
here so we’ve cleared it all off but the
thing to remember is just over there
there is another four tons cuz once
we’ve Tak the old aggregate off was
going to put new aggregate back in and
I’m looking at 4 tons and we’re running
out of time and over here everybody
keeps going that’s it in the skip in the
skip um we found it was really difficult
jigging The Trenches for our hedging
Aaron here from the higher centers has
done a great job with the Tango breaking
that all the way through and I’m just
over here James I bet you didn’t realize
how much hard work it is James is from
Blue Diamond garden centers and he’s
brought a team over and he’s also
brought us a load of plants at the same
time so tell us about this one then mate
so here we’ve got a just a a
straightforward Evergreen standard Tree
umly in all year round gets a bit of
flour four year foliage well it’s lovely
outside the front and the Evergreen
nature is your key isn’t it yes
definitely yeah brightens up door step
even through winter yeah cuz you don’t
want any bare branches during the winter
time for clar and things like that
lovely C crack on with those few more
pots over here just just just watch the
uh there’s a few holes down here I just
don’t want Le falling on the floor um
now we’re here with Joe from a oh sorry
uh we’re here from Jo Jo from o and
you’re putting in our water feature Joe
what’s the special about this one well
we didn’t you give give a huge amount of
time so there’s no time for a big pond
we can do a pond anywhere so we’re doing
a nice little Wildlife friendly pot Pond
uh with an all-in-one filter that’s
going to give us some decent circulation
keep the water clear all year round I
like it you don’t need a massive Pond
you’re going have a pond in a pot how
lovely is that that’s the magic hold on
just a quick question how long does it
take to fill up keep going I don’t think
moving faster that’s because we haven’t
got much time now we’ got the
professional electricians in at the back
as well one thing you can’t skimp on is
any form of the professional electrician
side of it so there’s a proper outdoor
socket there to be connected into this P
pump to keep moving it through but
there’s so much work to do the hing’s
got to go we haven’t even started
planting that border yet um and there’s
four ton of aggregate comes together
feeling a bit of the Jitters here so um
when you join us later hopefully we’re
in a in a lot better position but it it
it’s coming on yeah got to get the fence
but we’ve only got an hour left yeah
just about an hour just over an hour
David so keep it up son yeah keep

makeover reveal yes earlier today David
don’t uh surprise CLA in Somerset all
morning David and his team have been
hard at work and it’s time to see what
cla’s Garden looks like now did you do
it D
David oh I mean we bit off a bit bit
more than we could chew here and uh if
you can remember what the garden looked
like beforehand there was just old
stones on it there was Weeds it was it
looked pretty Tatty and uh and I think
the the general overhaul look was we’re
going to have to completely change this
Garden but of course the effort is is
clearing it out before you get started
so we managed to change it from
this wait for it into this what do you
think of that a dramatic transformation
fabulous wow really fabulous
David there’s a lot of color and a lot
of brightness here so let’s go and see
what CLA thinks of the uh of the garden
give give her a knot there Claire are
you ready to come and have a little look
and see what we’ve done come out here
come out here oh wow here we go oh my
goodness do you
think oh wow it’s amazing oh my God you
got for the doggies guys and amazing
they’ve got their their their the little
B dog bowls as well we put the water
feature in really to for the birds there
bird feeders over there wow lots of
flowers this was the hardest work the
hedging along the FR much that’s amazing
it’s beautiful what do you think the the
the what do you think of the gardens you
do you enjoy looking at plants nature
absolutely I’ve always my mom and dad
have got a massive Garden so used to
play around in the garden you know I
loved it loved Garden what’s your
favorite bit the water feature it’s nice
isn’t it and the dog
ballls and of course the plants are
beautiful a bright bit of color cuz it
will Garden your front garden welcomes
you when you come home when you’ve been
out and of course it gives you a send
off as you go so incredibly important
I’ve got to say a big thanks to the team
that have come in to do I’ve got to say
a big thanks to everybody thank you ever
so much it’s amazing absolutely amazing
it’s spectacular big thanks to James and
the team from Blue Diamond garden
centers big thanks also to Victoria
and the volunteers and the students from
Wilshire college and university thanks

doing a lot of hard work there from the
higher Center thanks to the protest guys
as well who’s done all our electrician
work on we’ve put up what do you think
guys what do you think give yourself a
round of applause I think you deserve it
that’s been a phenomenal amount of hard
work the the importance and the love of
gardens plants and natures and the dogs
will be loving it too there’s a whole
host of things there’s one last thing
that I’ve got to do of course let me
just get that up there this Garden has
had a front garden
facelift fabulous stuff what do you
think of that in the studio guys it
looks amazing can you just get a wide
shot of the gun can we just see the
color I think it’s as you said David the
color of all those amazing flowers can
you just spin around and see there that
one on the white sh it just pops doesn’t
it absolutely wonderful and and in just
a couple of hours and for CLA to be
going through her treatment for her
cancer to be able to come back and have
the joy and the and the warmth of that
Garden is really important so thank you

your treatment as
well they say say good luck with your
treatment and everything than you thank
