New to the sub so hope this isn’t one of those annoying questions but do we think my compost looks ready to use? It’s been going since last summer and has a bit of that earthy smell to it.
Looks good to me. Best way to tell is to seal some in a closed plastic bag for 3-4 days, in a dry shaded area. Smell it!! If it smells rancid, needs more time. If it smells like the forest floor, congratulations you have finished compost!!
