This is how I keep mine currently but I do sometimes find micro cracks in eggs at the bottom of the barrels. What’s the prettiest way you guys store your eggs for the countertop? I already have an ugly way, just loads of eggs in buckets in the mudroom lol.

Unwashed and in my fridge
Organized by date in cartons for selling and giving away, we eat the ones that aren’t cute so I don’t consider the aesthetics.
unwashed in the fridge. We have a little basket on the counter by the stove for the ones we take out and are ready for use.
OP how do you get your unwashed eggs so clean and pretty?
