What should I plant in the back corner under the Jacaranda and along the side fence?

Back fence is west facing in Newcastle

Would love to replace some of grass for plants and/or ground cover. There's basket grass growing under the tree right now,

Appreciate any suggestions

It will be hard growing anything under established trees as the roots will take the nutrients first.

How much sun does it get to the soil with the tree shading?

How about instead of plants, have a bench seat?

You can have planter boxes/pots with spring bulbs that take advantage of the winter sun when the trees are bare.

Anything that’s toxic to the jacaranda, small container of roundup would work. It will save your gutters at the very least.
