What are these…?

I’m wondering what all these spiky things are on my impatiens. These flowers always succumb to bugs with me and I’d prefer this one live.. is this normal for impatiens to have or is it pest? Thanks in advance

It’s normal. I don’t know what they are, but they produce little drops of waxlike stuff.

They are air roots. Your plant grows these on purpose. Your impatiens look good & healthy. As for previous pest issues, I have an idea you can try. So my daughter had a compromised heart condition when she was about 3. Anyway, she loves green beans, flowers, weeds, etc. Wanted to grow them all but we also had pest issues previously. Her cardiologist recommended using ivory soap. I took a bucket of water & proceeded to agitate it in the water. It won’t just break down in the water. Sprinkle this water over the plants. You should see changes in a day or two. Sorry this post is long but I thought you could use a tip 🪴🫶
