I’m honestly so impressed by whatever these little guys are! I am new to gardening and rather disaster-prone; thus far, they’ve survived a light frost and an actual snow-storm (although the temps did not drop below 30F/-1.1C for either), and they show no sign of slowing down, despite that!
Edit: I’ve managed to kill off three bag’s worth of grass seed thus far (frost + we can’t figure out how to turn the outside faucet back on in our circa-1900 home so that we can water stuff!); after some research, I’m thinking about giving alternate ground-covers a shot, instead. Is there any chance that I could get clover, alyssum, or something like that to grow, do you think? We’re in MN/zone 5.

Looks like mint. Take a small leave, crush it a bit with your finger, smell it.
