Berries

These are blackberries, right? Can I dig the root and take it home? Will it survive without needing much?

I think these are wild blackberries. I searched and found they have no poisonous look-alikes. I ate like five but then took more home to wash bc there was pollen on them all lol. Thanks in advance. If I can, I’d like to take it home and transfer it to a pot to have on the porch of my apartment. Advice is appreciated. I’d like to branch out and grow more things, but my green thumb is terrible lol.

Some kind of trailing blackberry. May be related to Austin Dewberry or something similar.

You can do whatever with blackberries. Theyre very tough. They’ll need constant watering in pots and do much better in the ground. But if you pit them in the ground they can be quite invasive

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe wild blackberries aren’t ideal because of how invasive they are. You may be better suited getting a thornless variety that doesn’t spread as much.
